We are seeking an experienced, client-focused nursing professional who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, sound decision-making skills, and a proactive approach to patient care.\nThe successful candidate will be self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable working independently as the sole nurse on shift, taking ownership of day-to-day clinical and operational responsibilities while exercising sound clinical judgment and problem-solving skills. This role requires confidence in managing a broad range of clinical and administrative responsibilities in a dynamic ambulatory care environment while collaborating effectively with physicians and other clinic staff.\nThis role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality screening, preventive, and primary care nursing services for clients attending Year-Round Care appointments and other Medcan programs. As the sole nurse on shift, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring an exceptional client experience while supporting the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the clinic.\nThis position is located at Medcan's Bloor Islington Place clinic, Suite 1000, 3250 Bloor Street West.\nWhat You'll Do:\nImmunization and vaccination education and administration\nHealth assessment and teaching on cardiac risk factors, immunizations, and other nursing responsibilities\nPrimary care nursing procedures such as ear syringing, dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and providing clinical support to physicians as required\nAdministration of maintenance medications such as Vitamin B12, testosterone, and allergy serums\nPerform venipuncture, process blood samples and maintain accurate client and specimen records in the LIS.\nMonitoring and facilitating patient flow throughout the clinic\nTravel Clinic client education and vaccination\nAdministrative duties including inventory and supplies ordering, maintaining cold chain for vaccine supply according to Vaccine Storage and Handling Guidelines\nProviding clients with education and guidance regarding healthy lifestyle, navigation of the health care system, and support and counseling regarding new diagnoses.\nCoordinate follow-up care for clients, including scheduling appointments, communicating results, and facilitating prescription renewals.\nCommunication and explanation of results\nCase management\nTriaging client calls\nCoordinate with other teams to ensure exceptional service delivery for all clients\nWhat You'll Need:\nRegistered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario\n1-5 years of nursing experience\nNursing experience in a primary care environment is essential\nExperience with phlebotomy\nGood understanding of publicly funded vaccine schedule and travel vaccines is an asset\nCurrent CPR/BCLS certification\nSuperior verbal, written and electronic communication skills\nExperience in travel health, occupational health and pediatric nursing is an asset\nProficiency in MS Outlook, Excel and Word\nGreat organization and time management skills\nThis is a part-time position working 8.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid break. The successful candidate must be available to work every Saturday. This role is based primarily at our Kingsway clinic and requires the ability to travel to our Toronto clinic at 150 York St. for onboarding and training as required. Training expectations will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.\nThis role reports to Site Manager, Kingsway\nPosition Pay Range:\nPay is determined based on your RN registration date.\n1 year: $35.47\n\n2 years: $36.54\n\n3 years: $38.39\n\n4 years: $39.98\n\n5 years: $41.94\n\n6 years: $43.87\n\n7 years: $47.08\n\n8+ years: $50.85\n\nThe above figures are an hourly rate. All amounts are in CAD.\nPay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within our nursing grid.
