We are looking for a hands-on Site Reliability Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer to own the reliability, security, and continuity of Comtron’s Windows- and Linux-based production environment.\nYou will be responsible for three primary areas:\nProduction infrastructure, availability, and security\n\nBackups and disaster recovery\n\nProduction deployments and hosting environments\n\nYou will also support infrastructure modernization, technology upgrades, and the potential transition of applicable systems to cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.\nThe role reports to the Head of Software Development and works closely with the IT Director, Software Development, Quality Assurance, Security, and Support teams.\nKey Responsibilities\n1) Infrastructure and Reliability\nManage the lifecycle of Windows and Linux production servers, including provisioning, configuration, patching, hardening, and decommissioning.\n\nMonitor uptime, performance, capacity, and infrastructure costs.\n\nMaintain high-availability configurations and resolve production incidents.\n\nManage production access controls, firewall rules, certificates, networking, storage, and database connectivity.\n\nCoordinate vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation activities.\n\nManage infrastructure vendors and support the evaluation of public or hybrid-cloud solutions.\n\n2) Backups and Disaster Recovery\nOwn production backup policies, monitoring, retention, and recovery testing.\n\nEstablish and maintain RTO and RPO targets.\n\nMaintain, document, and regularly test disaster recovery procedures.\n\nLead improvements following incidents and disaster recovery exercises.\n\n3) Deployments and Technology Lifecycle\nManage staging, UAT, and production hosting environments.\n\nExecute production deployments and rollback procedures.\n\nCoordinate deployment windows and infrastructure changes.\n\nSupport CI/CD tooling and deployment automation.\n\nPlan and coordinate operating system, database, framework, library, and application dependency upgrades.\n\nAssess cloud migration options, dependencies, risks, and phased modernization strategies.\n\n What we’re looking for:\n5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, or a similar role.\n\nStrong hands-on Linux administration experience.\n\nStrong Windows Server and IIS administration experience.\n\nExperience managing high-availability production environments.\n\nStrong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation.\n\nExperience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or hybrid-cloud environments.\n\nExperience with enterprise backups, disaster recovery, and production incident management.\n\nStrong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.\n\nFamiliarity with .NET and JavaScript-based application environments.\n\nExperience with deployment pipelines, automation, and Microsoft TFS or similar tools.\n\nExperience with access controls, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure security.\n\nFamiliarity with ISO 27001 requirements.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English.\n\n Joining Comtron means embarking on a dynamic environment where trust, innovation, quality, and client success guide our days.
