As we continue to expand our cloud, data and AI capabilities, we're looking for a Cloud Engineer - AI & Data to help build, secure and optimise the cloud platforms that power our next generation of data, analytics and AI solutions.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing Cloud Engineering team and play a key role in designing, automating and governing cloud environments across AWS and Azure, with a particular focus on AI and data platforms.\nThe Opportunity\nAs a Cloud Engineer - AI & Data, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, automating and supporting cloud environments that enable Medibank's applications, data products and AI solutions to operate securely, efficiently and at scale.\nWorking closely with Cloud Engineering, Data, AI and Technology teams, you'll leverage Infrastructure as Code, cloud-native services and automation tools to deliver highly available, secure and cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with Medibank's governance and security standards.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nCloud Engineering & Automation\nDesign, build and maintain cloud environments across AWS and Azure.\nDevelop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar tools.\nAutomate cloud provisioning, deployment and operational processes.\nContinuously evaluate and implement emerging cloud capabilities and managed services.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable cloud solutions.\nData & AI Enablement\nBuild and operate cloud platforms that support data, analytics and AI/ML workloads.\nDesign and support AWS-based AI solutions using services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, Amazon Q, Comprehend, Textract and Kendra.\nSupport governance, classification and lifecycle management of AI solutions across development, test and production environments.\nAssist in the secure, responsible and cost-effective adoption of AI technologies.\nPartner with Data and AI teams to enable innovative use cases while ensuring operational excellence.\nSecurity & Governance\nApply cloud security best practices and the Principle of Least Privilege.\nEnsure compliance with regulatory, privacy and security requirements.\nEnforce Medibank's cloud governance standards and operational controls.\nSupport monitoring, auditing and remediation activities across cloud environments.\nOperations & Cloud Administration\nMonitor and support cloud infrastructure to maintain availability and performance.\nManage change, release, incident and problem management processes.\nMaintain operational documentation, standards and runbooks.\nAct as a key contributor to cloud reliability, resilience and continuous improvement initiatives.\nStakeholder Engagement\nBuild strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders.\nGather, analyse and document requirements for cloud initiatives.\nContribute to project planning, estimation and delivery activities.\nFacilitate workshops and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.\nAbout You\nWe're looking for an engineer who is passionate about cloud technologies, automation and the rapidly evolving AI landscape.\nMust Have\n2-5 years' experience as a Cloud Engineer with strong AWS experience.\nProven experience designing and deploying cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code.\nExperience supporting data, analytics and AI/ML workloads in AWS.\nFamiliarity with AWS AI services including:Amazon Bedrock\nSageMaker\nAmazon Q\nComprehend\nTextract\nKendra\n\nStrong AWS administration experience.\nExperience with:S3\nGlue\nAthena\nRedshift\nEMR\nSageMaker\nBedrock\n\nExperience with serverless and container technologies including Lambda, Docker, ECS, EKS and Fargate.\nStrong understanding of cloud security and governance practices.\nExperience with Python and Linux shell scripting.\nExperience using Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.\nExperience working in Agile delivery environments.\nNice to Have\nAWS Solutions Architect certification.\nExperience with MLOps, data governance or modern data platforms.\nDevOps experience.\nExperience with ServiceNow and Jira.\nExperience working within collaborative, cross-functional teams.\nWhy Medibank?\nAt Medibank, you'll be empowered to do meaningful work that makes a real difference to the health and wellbeing of Australians.
