As part of a significant multi-year data transformation program, we're looking for an experienced Data Solution Architect with strong Databricks platform enablement experience to help shape and establish the foundations of our next-generation data ecosystem. This role will kick off as an intial 12-month daily rate contract, with a rate of up to $1200 per day.\nThis is a hands-on architecture role where you'll partner closely with engineering, platform and delivery teams to design, implement and evolve a modern Databricks-based data platform that supports scalable, governed and reusable data products.\nAbout the role\nThis isn't a strategy-only architecture position. We're looking for someone who has recently been involved in standing up or significantly evolving a Databricks platform, understands the challenges of implementing modern data capabilities in large enterprises, and can bridge architecture, platform and engineering teams to deliver practical outcomes.\nYou'll play a key role in helping Medibank mature towards a data product operating model, establishing platform patterns, governance controls and engineering frameworks that enable teams to confidently build and consume trusted data.\nWhat you'll be doing\nDesigning Medibank's Databricks-based data platform architecture.\nDefining architecture patterns across data ingestion, transformation, storage, sharing and consumption.\nDriving platform enablement activities including cloud infrastructure, connectivity, security and governance foundations.\nWorking closely with data engineers, platform teams, security, cloud and delivery stakeholders to implement scalable solutions.\nEstablishing data architecture principles, modelling standards, governance patterns and engineering frameworks.\nSupporting the development of data products that are secure, reusable and fit for enterprise scale.\nContributing to architecture roadmaps, reference patterns and best practices across the broader data landscape.\nProviding architectural guidance across data, analytics and AI initiatives.\nWhat you'll bring\nWe're particularly interested in people who have recent experience implementing or modernising a Databricks environment within a large enterprise.\nYou'll likely bring:\nSignificant experience in Data Architecture, Solution Architecture or Senior Data Engineering roles.\nRecent hands-on experience implementing or enabling a Databricks platform.\nStrong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture patterns.\nExperience with data modelling, governance frameworks and platform standards.\nExperience working across infrastructure, networking, security and platform engineering teams.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAbility to operate in complex, enterprise-scale environments.\nImagine working with us\nWe understand that work means different things to everyone...
