This internship will also include a study component.\nWorking alongside experienced Business Improvement Engineers and multidisciplinary teams, interns will contribute to initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, optimising resource utilisation, enhancing patient and employee experiences, and supporting sustainable business performance.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS\nUnder the guidance of an assigned Business Improvement Engineer, the graduate will support the following activities:\n1. Business Process Analysis and Improvement\nMap, document and analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.\nSupport the design, implementation and evaluation of improved processes and workflows.\nApply structured problem-solving and Continuous Improvement methodologies to operational challenges.\nParticipate in process observations, stakeholder engagements and improvement workshops.\n2. Data Analysis and Performance Measurement\nGather, validate, analyse and interpret operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\nAssist with developing performance measures, dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making.\nSupport the measurement and evaluation of improvement initiatives to determine their effectiveness and sustainability.\n3. Continuous Improvement Project Support\nAssist with the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of improvement projects.\nSupport the application of Lean and other Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools.\nTrack project activities, milestones and deliverables.\nAssist with documenting findings, recommendations and improvement outcomes.\n4. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital operations and corporate functions.\nParticipate in meetings, workshops and improvement discussions.\nPrepare and present process analyses, findings and improvement recommendations.\nDevelop effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\nLEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES\nDuring the internship, graduates will gain exposure to:\nBusiness process mapping, analysis and optimisation.\nLean principles, structured problem-solving and Continuous Improvement methodologies.\nRoot cause analysis and identification of operational improvement opportunities.\nData collection, analysis, visualisation and performance reporting.\nProject coordination and change implementation.\nHealthcare operations and the application of Industrial Engineering principles in a service environment.\nProfessional communication, presentation and multidisciplinary teamwork.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION\nBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (BEng or BSc Eng).\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE\nNo previous work experience required.\nREQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE\nStrong analytical and critical thinking capability\nUnderstanding of Business Process Management and business process re-engineering\nAbility to interpret data from various sources in order to compile reports\nDemonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)\nProject planning and co-ordination\nLean / Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodology\nIntellectual curiosity and passion for finding solutions\nStrong verbal and written communication skills in English\nAbility to work as part of a multi-functional team\nDisplay excellent planning and organising
