Collaborate with facility management, risk, quality, legal, and HR to implement acceptable systems in order to ensure compliance and mitigation solutions. Work with plant leadership to build a strong culture of continuous improvement and safety.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nImplement safety & environmental strategies, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with legislation.\n\nPartner and lead on all EHS regulatory issues and concerns. Facilitate accountability and oversite of EHS programs.\n\nConduct EHS audits such as annual compliance audits and ISO 14001 audits. Assist in development and implementation of corrective actions.\n\nConduct incident investigations, reporting, and workers compensation claim follow-up.\n\nDevelop and conduct EHS and specific regulatory training for all applicable employees.\n\nPrepare reports, metrics, and communications related to EHS internally and to regulatory bodies. Audit and report on performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.\n\nEnsure compliance with DOT regulations and hazmat management.\n\nPartner with facilities within the business unit to align EHS programs and utilize best practices.\n\nManagement Responsibilities:\nTypically oversees professional employees/teams OR manages non-professional employees through Supervisors in manufacturing, distribution or office environments\n\nDay-to-day operations of a group of employees\n\nMay have limited budgetary responsibility and usually contributes to budgetary impact\n\nInterpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies\n\nProvide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning\n\nHiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies\n\nMinimum Job Requirements:\nEducation\nBachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Business or a related field.\nWork Experience\nAt least 4 years of experience applying and implementing environmental, health & safety programs, standards and guidelines.\nAt least 2 years of audit, compliance and training experience with a focus on OSHA, USDOT, NFPA, ISO and EPA standards.\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities\nExperience in the application of EHS management systems.\n\nExperience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).\n\nExperience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.\n\nExperience and skills in influencing, leading and directing individuals in multiple functional areas without direct oversight.\n\nAdvanced level skill in Microsoft Office\n\nPosition requires limited travel for business purposes (within state and out of state).\n\nPreferred Job Requirements:\nCertification / Licensure\nCurrent First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens and/or AED certification.\nEHS related training/certifications (OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, ASP, CSP, CIH).\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities\nUnderstanding of differences in work environments and EHS program implementation (distribution warehouse vs. manufacturing).\nBilingual in English and Spanish.\nMedline Industries, LP, and its subsidiaries, offer a competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization.\nThe anticipated salary range for this position:\n$101,000.00 - $152,000.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible.
