Medline is an American healthcare supplier founded in 1966 and still owned by the Mills family alongside private equity investors, and it is one of the largest distributors of medical supplies in the United States. It both manufactures and distributes, which is unusual in the sector: it makes gloves, gowns, surgical kits, wound care and patient apparel under its own brands while also distributing products from thousands of other manufacturers to hospitals, surgery centres and care homes. Headquartered in Northfield, Illinois, it operates one of the largest private distribution fleets in American healthcare.
