Additionally, effective collaboration and communication are essential for understanding technical capabilities and supporting the business.Job Description\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:\nReviews and responds to trouble tickets and works with end users through resolution as necessary\nProvides Tier III support, drives issues through closure; engage all appropriate cross-team resources\nUnderstand best practices, compose relevant standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and maximize uptime\nConfigure, deploy, and maintain networking solutions of Medline’s LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDWAN, Cloud and Network Security focused infrastructure\nDevelop and recommend strategies for network growth and datacenter network security/enhancements by maximizing functionality of network equipment such as switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and firewalls\nPresent innovative solutions to stakeholders and technical staff; participate in implementation resulting in a warm handoff to support\nParticipate in regular meetings and conference calls with customers and I/S staff to help qualify opportunities and technical solutions for optimizing the network; drive design solutions through deployment\nAct as a point of escalation for other I/S teams regarding network infrastructure issues\nUnderstand that assisting to resolve issues outside our area is also our responsibility\nAnalyze performance data and metrics, identify problem areas, and provide actionable insight to problem resolution\nPerform complex and routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering; identify, isolate, and escalate issues to appropriate personnel\nInterface and communicate with senior and mid-level client leadership that may include technical presentations\nParticipate in off-hours support rotation of designated network resources\nWell informed of information technology and applied research trends; develops and incorporates them into assignments where appropriate\nMINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:\nEducation:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent in training and experience\nCertification / Licensure:\nTechnical certifications; CCNA required, CCNP preferred, Azure Certification(s) desirable\nWork Experience:\nAt least 4 years of experience providing technical leadership for network technologies in a large enterprise environment\nMicrosoft Azure Networking knowledge required; prior experience preferred\nExperience implementing SDWAN Viptela Solution is a plus\nSDN experience, especially with Cisco ACI is a plus\nExperience in developing architecture diagrams and work statements\nKnowledge in using deep dive troubleshooting tools such as tcpdump, iperf, and nmap\nExperience in network automation and orchestration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet\nProficient in disaster recovery planning and implementation for network infrastructure\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:\nNone\nPREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:\nEducation:\nNone\nCertification / Licensure:\nNone\nWork Experience:\nExpertise with Cisco technologies preferred\nAdvanced comprehension of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP and VRF)\nUnderstand VOIP, including QoS on LAN and WAN\nUnderstand data center hardware landscape, including overall IT systems landscape and virtualization\nStrong interpersonal skills, with a desire to collaborate, mentor, with internal and external business/technical teams\nSkilled in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting secure Wi-Fi networks\nAbility to troubleshoot quickly in pressure situations\nKnowledge of firewalls, Iptables web filters, etc.\nExperience with Cisco SDWAN desirable\nWorking knowledge of Enterprise Telecom systems a plus\nCommunications: Excellent interpersonal, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communication skills tailored for the intended audience\nDetail oriented with an analytical mindset\nAbility to work out of any of Medline’s Chicagoland area facilities on any given day\nUp to 10% overnight travel required\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:\nNone\nClick here to learn more about a career in IT at Medline!\nOur benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.
