Join us in tackling exciting challenges at the intersection of healthcare and technology.\nThe non-sterile compounding technician is responsible forcreating compounded medication under the supervision and direction of a pharmacist. The duties of a non-sterile compounding technician include, but not limited to, receiving medication orders, measuring quantities, mixing ingredients, packaging medication, and updating records.\nJoin our team in Elmhurst, IL - we're looking for someone who truly values and enjoys working onsite, not just tolerates it.\nWhat You'll Do\nResponsibilities &Duties\nCompletes compounding and other pharmacy records as indicated.\n\nWeighs, measures, and mixes raw material ingredients, blends & presses powder, and other parameters to ensure finished batches of tablets meet specifications.\n\nTransfers materials into properly labeled, approved containers.\n\nCleans and sanitizes equipment and completes all required documentation to maintaincompliance with USP 795 (non-sterile compounding) & USP 800 and company's Quality System.\n\nMaintains thoroughunderstanding of USP 795 & 800 guidelines.\n\nPrepares and generates batchfor preparation of non-sterile mixtures.\n\nOrganizes assigned workload to facilitateits accomplishment.\n\nEnsuresthe compounding room and related equipment are cleaned and maintainedper organizational policy and procedures.\n\nParticipates with the pharmacist and pharmacy manager in monitoring/maintainingdrug inventories and preparing orders for drugs and related supplies.\n\nParticipates in department QA activities as requested\n\nFollow Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines for maintainingsafety and managing safety events.\n\nDemonstrate general knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\n\nProperly cleanup hazardous medication spills utilizingestablished safety protocols.\n\nSafely dispose of hazardous wastes generated during medication preparation.\n\nRoutinely check for outdated or soon to expire chemicals and compounded products.\n\nUse proper garbing techniques in accordance withSOP guidelines.\n\nEffectively prepare and organize all compounded products for pharmacist review.\n\nWork closely with QualityAssurance Department to ensure product sterility, potencyand absence of endotoxins.\n\nAssistspharmacist-in-charge and pharmacistperform any other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n\nObtain Pharmacy Technician License\n\nObtain Pharmacy Technician Certification within 6 months of hire\n\nCompounding and/or Laboratory experience\n\nCapable of wearing all protective wear as required.
