This role ensures that all utilities, building infrastructure, contracted services, and facility-related projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with FDA, GMP, ISO, EHS, and Medtronic standards while supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations.The Facilities Manager should deliver to a safe and inspection-ready facility every day. Maintain reliable building systems that enable uninterrupted manufacturing. Execute projects on schedule and within budget. Build strong partnerships with internal customers and corporate stakeholders. Develop high-performing teams and contractor relationships. Drive continuous improvement while reducing operational costs. Anticipate future business needs and proactively prepare the site’s facilities infrastructure to support growth.\nThis role is both operational and strategic. The Facilities Manager is expected not only to solve today’s facility challenges but also to develop the long-term infrastructure, people, and processes that enable Medtronic Ponce to meet future manufacturing and business objectives while reporting directly to the PR Hub Facilities Leader.\nResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.\nManages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.\nPlans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.\nDesigns and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department.\nOversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.\nMay have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards.\nSelects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.\nManagement Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software.\nFunctional Skills: Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance, Management Software programs (CMMS), Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, Working knowledge of maintenance operations, administrative services, contract management, security, janitorial, and grounds maintenance, Effective Communication Skills.\nRequired Knowledge and Experience:\nRequires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one job area.\nTypically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.\nRequires a Bachelor degree\nand minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.\nNice to Have:\nDrive preventive maintenance and reliability strategies using CMMS systems to maximize equipment uptime and business continuity (e.g., eMaint, SAP, Maximo, Blue Mountain RAM, or similar).\nExperience submitting and managing Capital Projects and Forecast accuracy.\nExperience managing soft contractors such as Janitorial, Handyman, Landscapers, Cafeteria and Security.\nExposure leading the Pest Control Program for a manufacturing or regulated facility. \nExperience leading investigations related to Facility non-conformance, CAPAs, and root cause analysis. \nAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals, SOPs, blueprints, and technical drawings.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nProficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.\nExperience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, aerospace, etc.).\nBackground in GMP, ISO, FDA, and EHS-regulated environments.\nFamiliarity with HVAC, cleanrooms, building automation systems, and utility systems.\nAbility to analyze data, identify trends, and propose improvements.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPassion for team collaboration, equity, and driving results.\nMultitasking ability and continuous improvement mindset.\nEffective in reading, listening and talking in English and Spanish.\nProfessional Engineer License. \nBSME or BSEE preferred. \nFor Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.\nPhysical Job Requirements\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.\nThe physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
