A Day in the Life
Surgical Operating Unit - Partnering across open, laparoscopic, minimally invasive therapies, and robotic-assisted surgery like no one else. Centered on collaboration, training, and innovation, our surgical ecosystem meets today's demands while advancing minimally invasive surgeries for the future, always aiming to improve patient care.This position is field-based role in New York City and requires frequent travel throughout the territory. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the assigned territory and be able to travel regularly to customer sites. A valid driver's license is required.
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing inventory levels, replenishment activities, and product availability within assigned hospital locations. This role partners closely with hospital materials management, nursing, and clinical teams to maintain inventory accuracy, support supply planning, address product shortages, and ensure critical products remain available to support procedural and patient care needs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels across assigned customer locations to ensure product availability and continuity of supply.
- Receive, inspect, reconcile, and organize incoming product shipments while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and physical inventory reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory utilization trends and develop replenishment recommendations to support customer inventory requirements.
- Maintain established inventory par levels and oversee organization of storage locations containing a broad range of product stock-keeping units.
- Identify and communicate product shortages, backorders, and supply risks while recommending appropriate product alternatives when available.
- Partner with materials management, nursing, and clinical stakeholders to address inventory-related issues, product availability concerns, and replenishment needs.
- Analyze inventory data and coordinate with internal and customer partners to support inventory planning and operational efficiency initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant professional experience in inventory management, supply chain, materials management, logistics, operations, healthcare support, or a related function; or an advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
- Experience maintaining inventory records, performing inventory audits or cycle counts, and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
- Experience using inventory management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), or related systems to manage inventory transactions and reporting.
- Ability to travel locally within the assigned territory and work regularly onsite at customer locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lift, move, and organize product inventory as required to support receiving, stocking, and inventory management activities.
- Experience supporting inventory management activities within a hospital, healthcare, or medical device environment.
- Knowledge of surgical products, hospital supply chain operations, or materials management processes.
- Experience managing high-volume inventories and maintaining inventory par levels across multiple product categories.
- Experience analyzing inventory trends and developing replenishment recommendations based on utilization data.
- Experience building collaborative relationships with clinical, nursing, and materials management stakeholders in a customer-facing environment.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$67,200.00 - $100,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
