This role plays a critical part in building, expanding, and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and resilient network services that customers depend on.\nWorking closely with Network Architects, Infrastructure, and Customer Support teams, you will contribute to expanding the global network footprint, increasing capacity, and ensuring operational excellence across the infrastructure.\nThis role requires strong expertise in large-scale network deployments, network operations, and troubleshooting, with a focus on automation, performance optimisation, and customer experience.\nYou will collaborate with global stakeholders, data centre providers, and carriers to deliver new infrastructure, resolve complex network challenges, and maintain high network availability.\nThis is not an entry-level role. Candidates must have 3+ years of similar CORE network engineering experience within the network services industry.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nDesign, analyse, test, and deploy new network sites and infrastructure.\nPlan and execute network deployments and upgrades.\nPlan and execute data centre onboarding, PoP deployments, and network equipment installations.\nConfigure and deploy enterprise networking equipment (Cisco and Juniper) via secure remote methods.\nDesign, implement, and test Cloud On-Ramp connectivity with providers such as AWS, Azure, and Oracle.\nDesign, implement, and validate global network circuits.\nOperate and maintain the next-generation global network infrastructure.\nProvide Level 3 escalation support for major network incidents and customer-impacting issues.\nSupport Network Operations Centre (NOC) teams during incident mitigation and troubleshooting.\nIdentify the root causes of network issues and implement preventive measures.\nDocument operational procedures and completed work in internal systems.\nActively monitor, plan and execute network capacity management initiatives.\nSupport network risk management and resilience improvements.\nIdentify opportunities to redesign the network to optimise performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.\nExecute assigned procurement activities to ensure adherence to network design standards.\nPerform carrier and vendor technical analysis.\nManage assigned network deployment and infrastructure projects end-to-end.\nCoordinate with engineering, deployment, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery.\nProvide regular reporting on network performance, deployments, and infrastructure growth.\nContribute to technical documentation, SOPs, and operational processes.\nProvide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and operations teams.\nContribute to the development of training materials for Network Operations staff.\nAct as a senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.\nWork closely with other departments across Megaport (e.g., Network/Infrastructure, Engineering, Procurement/Suppliers as relevant) to achieve shared business goals.\nEnhance integration between Megaport teams to reduce resolution times, enhance accountability, and improve customer outcomes.\nAdvocate for the customer internally by turning feedback and recurring issues into clear, prioritised improvement initiatives.\nWhat We Are Looking For\n6+ years of experience working with large-scale network deployments and operations\nStrong experience with routing and MPLS technologies, including BGP, ISIS, MPLS Traffic Engineering, and MPLS L2/L3 VPN\nProduction experience with Juniper and Cisco network platforms\nExperience deploying and troubleshooting data centre network infrastructure\nExperience working with fibre optic technologies and DWDM environments\nFamiliarity with cloud networking and SDN concepts\nExperience with Python, Perl, Linux environments or similar scripting languages is highly desirable\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting abilities\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nStrong attention to detail and organisational skills\nAbility to work independently and across distributed teams\nProactive and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset\nStrong focus on delivering an excellent customer experience\nTeam Fit\nAble to work autonomously within a globally dispersed team environment, managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.\nStrong work ethic, reliable follow-through, and consistent accountability for outcomes.\nTeam player who enjoys collaboration, contributes ideas, and is comfortable mentoring and coaching others.\nPassion for innovation and technology, with an interest in staying current across evolving ISP and cloud landscapes.\nPlanning & Project Delivery\nStrong organisation and prioritisation skills; effectively plans and manages workload in a fast-paced operational environment.\nExposure to running projects effectively is essential (driving initiatives across process, tooling, reporting, service improvements, or training uplift).\nWhat We Offer\n*Subject to the internal policies of Megaport, which may be updated from time to time*:\nFamily health insurance according to company policy\nA motivated team combining industry experts and emerging talent.\nRecognition programs - including Legend and Kudos Awards.\nWorking Conditions, Location and Hours\nFull-time office-based role, at our Gurugram office\nThe working day is 8 hours, and the working week is 40 hours.\nWorking visits to the Locations which are under your responsibility for meeting partners, vendors, team, checking the quality of the network\n90-day notice period for resignation after the trial period\nWorking exclusively for Extreme Infocom Pvt.
