If you are looking to be a part of a great team, please apply!\nThe Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for the scheduling and assignment of rigging crews to MEI Rigging & Crating jobs based on customer requirements and per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations as required. This position is also responsible for ensuring rental and MEI owned equipment and tools are assigned to crews per job requirements and scheduled for maintenance.\nPlan, coordinate and schedule work crews and equipment to each job including travel, load time and non-job-related projects and tasks.\nAssign and dispatch of work crews every morning to job sites and yard projects based on customer and MEI requirements ensuring employees are assigned to job/projects in accordance with their skill set.\nUtilize computer and organization skills to dispatch/assign equipment (MEI and rentals) and tools to crew per job requirements including scheduling of equipment repairs. \nPrepare, organize, and distribute all required paperwork to appropriate groups (crew, accounting, operations management) related to the job, change orders, assignment of crew and equipment, safety, JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and works closely with mechanic to schedule equipment maintenance, repairs, & inspections\nPerform data entry into software applications and/or Microsoft Excel for labor and equipment.\nMonitor, review, edit, and adjust labor hours on employee timecard and payroll, preparing final review and approval by manager.\nUpdate dispatch job board daily by adding and cancelling pending and confirmed jobs\nCoordinate, track, and schedule drop off and pick up of all equipment and rentals related to jobs, including equipment from other MEI locations.\nCommunicate daily with job foreman and drivers for efficiency of scheduling and dispatch.\nResponsible for all activities of the rigging operation from job site management to dispatching of crews. \nDevelop, plan, and implement schedules for rigging crew in alignment with customer direction. \nParticipate in the hiring, coaching, training and performance of rigging crew members with best management practices. \nWork closely with safety personnel in coordinating safety training, accident and injury investigations and reporting and equipment or property damage incidents, investigations, and reporting. \nConsistently demonstrate professional conduct representative of MEI corporate mission, vision, and values. \nMinimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)\nHS diploma with continuing education in Business, Project or Construction Management or related degree a plus. \nMinimum two (2) years proven dispatching and/or operations experience or comparable field preferably withing the rigging, crane, logistics, or transportation industry.\nMinimum of three (3) years’ experience working in Microsoft Office Applications.\nValid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. \nPrior supervisory background or knowledge preferred.\nCommunicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of staff.\nAbility to make judgement calls, problem-solve, or act with limited information.\nAbility to manage multiple people, job sites, and/or resources simultaneously.\nProfessional Qualifications:\nExcellent interpersonal, management, supervisory and project management skills. \nHighly self-directed and motivated. \nAbility to excel and adapt in a fast-paced environment.\nKnowledge of DOT regulations preferred.\nEmbraces company Values, Vision, Mission, and Culture.\nPossess creative thinking and problem-solving skills.\nPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:\nStandard office environment including work at a computer terminal. Work can involve extended periods of sitting and walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.
