The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing MELE’s day-to-day accounting clerk function independently taking ownership of the position. Working within Deltek Costpoint with an emphasis on complex PO Vendor Labor Vouchering, extreme attention to detail is necessary to manage accurate coding. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task and possess the ability to handle a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. A strong commitment to follow-through is required to be successful in this position.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nPerform day-to-day operations of the Accounting Clerk function\nReceive payable invoices, review for accuracy, prepare and submit invoices for approval\nManage the e-signature and approval system ensuring all payable invoices are approved and downloaded for system entry timely\nEnter project-based purchase orders, and non-PO invoice vouchers in Costpoint.\nTrack prepaid travel expenses and travel advances in accordance with company travel policy.\nEnter subcontractor employee travel expenses and Other Direct Costs (ODCs) into Costpoint.\nRespond to client, vendor, and employee inquiries with exceptional customer service\nDiligently maintain the integrity of the electronic accounting archives\nSupport the accounting team with account reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.\nPerform other duties as assigned\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nAssociates in Accounting or two years relevant experience\n2 years accounting experience\nStrong analytical, problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail\nWorking knowledge of Adobe Pro, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel\nExtensive attention to detail and organization in physical and digital environments\nAbility to handle a fast-paced environment and often changing priorities\nStrong commitment to seeing a task through to completion\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nCustomer service-driven attitude\nLOCATION: This position is full-time and hybrid in Rockville, MD.\nSALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
