Meow Wolf reserves the right to extend this deadline if needed.\nJob Summary:\nThe Retail Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Retail Manager with retail operations at Meow Wolf Denver. Major duties include supervision of retail staff and daily retail operations as directed by the Retail Manager. Reporting to the Retail Manager, the Assistant Retail Manager assists in ensuring profitability of retail operations by effectively managing all business aspects of the retail department, such as opening and closing procedures, cash handling, restocking, inventory control, loss prevention, managing staff, and providing exceptional customer service.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssist with managing labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Division and the site specifically\nCarry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws\nEncourage, and maintain internal and cross-departmental communication\nAssist with training staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests\nModels and enforces proper cash management protocols by delivering POS training to staff and following company policies for cash handling and cash room compliance\nAssist Retail Manager with supervision of Retail Leads and Retail Associates\nFulfill all Manager on Duty duties, skills, and knowledge, including the ability to perform any role within the Retail department\nAssist with creating effective schedules to ensure work centers are well staffed during peak hours\nAssist with payroll and schedule changes \nAssist with making projections for hiring needs\nAssist with recommending, creating, and communicating policies and procedures\nMaintaining knowledge of events, special programs and projects and communicating them to the staff\nAssist with tracking fluctuations in visitation numbers and adjusting staffing levels accordingly\nDirectly support all site initiatives including, but not limited to, the role-playing element required of all staff members when interacting with guests\nHire and train staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests\nModels and enforces proper cash management protocols by delivering POS training to staff and following company policies for cash handling and cash room compliance\nAssures the store is properly stocked and visually merchandised as required\nOther duties as assigned\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum 3 years leadership experience in retail/entertainment/operations environment\nProven work experience as an Assistant Retail Manager or similar leadership role\nHands-on experience with point-of-sale systems\nStrong service skills and welcoming demeanor required\nAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays\nExperience training staff and identifying training needs\nAdult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred \nPrior experience with visual merchandising\nBilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish preferred\nExcellent customer service and communication skills\nAbility to lead and manage staff\nGood judgment in difficult and complicated management situations\nAbility to maintain an appropriate, dispassionate demeanor in emergencies, difficult customer interactions, and interactions with personnel\nAbility to follow and enforce safety rules\nAdaptable to changes in a fast-paced work environment\nWork Environment and Physical Demands\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night.
