This role is responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining reliable, secure, and user-friendly software packages for Windows and macOS devices managed through Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro. The engineer will work closely with Endpoint Engineering, Security, and Operations teams to ensure smooth deployments, minimal user disruption, and compliance with enterprise standards. The position serves as a technical authority for application packaging, complex troubleshooting, and scripting automation.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSoftware Packaging & Deployment\nCreate, maintain, and optimize software packages for Windows and macOS endpoints\n\nPackage applications using formats such as EXE, MSI, MSIX, IntuneWin, PKG, DMG, and shell-based installers\n\nEnsure packages are optimized for silent install, upgrade, uninstall, and rollback scenarios\n\nValidate packages across OS versions and device types prior to production deployment\n\nEndpoint Management & Tooling\nDeploy and manage packaged applications using Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro\n\nSupport application lifecycle management including new releases, updates, and retirements\n\nWork with Intune and Jamf policies to ensure consistent and compliant application delivery\n\nScripting & Automation\nDevelop and maintain automation scripts using:\nPowerShell (Windows)\n\nBash / Zsh (macOS)\n\nUse scripting to manage pre-install checks, post-install validation, error handling, and remediation\n\nAssist with packaging automation and detection logic improvements\n\nTroubleshooting & Support\nTroubleshoot failed installations, upgrades, and compliance issues across macOS and Windows\n\nAnalyze logs and diagnostics from Intune, Jamf, and endpoint devices\n\nProvide Tier-3 supports for complex application deployment issues\n\nSecurity, Compliance & Documentation\nFollow secure packaging best practices to ensure applications meet enterprise security standards\n\nCollaborate with Security teams to address vulnerabilities and compliance requirements\n\nCreate and maintain packaging documentation, standards, and operational runbooks\n\nEnsure packaging activities align with ITSM and change management practices\n\nRequired Skills:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or strong hands-on experience\n\n5 - 8+ years of overall IT experience\n\n5+ years of specialized experience in Windows and macOS application packaging\n\nExperience supporting enterprise-scale deployments using Intune and/or Jamf\n\nScripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Zsh\n\nExperience with application detection rules, dependencies, and requirement checks\n\nWorking knowledge of Windows Registry, services, file system, and macOS equivalents\n\nAttention to detail and quality in packaging standards\n\nClear written and verbal communication skills\n\nPreferred Skills:\nRelevant certifications or practical experience in endpoint management and scripting\n\nFamiliarity with Apple Business Manager\n\nNote - The role requires working in UK business hours.
