understanding of expertise and organization.\nProject management experience.\nCoordinating with multiple stakeholders.\nHelping and reviewing the technical decisions of tech leads.\nDesigning the architecture of an entire system.\nManaging a multicultural team.\nHiring engineers (application screening, interviewing, direct recruiting, event hosting, etc. )\n\nRequirements: \nShared understanding and belief in the Mercari Group's mission and values.\nExperience in software development.\nAt least 3 years of experience as an engineering manager, along with people management.\nExperience developing and operating large-scale products.\nKnowledge of and experience with databases (RDBMS/NoSQL), networks, Linux, monitoring systems, logging, operations, and SLO/SLA.\nDevelopment and operation using a microservices architecture.\nCloud development experience (preferably GCP or AWS).\nUnderstanding of UI development.\nOSS contribution experience/familiarity with the OSS community.\n\nStrong experience in one of the following: \nBackend: Design, development, and operation of APIs using Go or PHP.\nMachine Learning: ML modelling or development experience with ML systems.\nData Engineering: Architecture and development of large-scale data/BI on cloud platforms, ETL (i. e., dbt, Dataform, Informatica, and Talend), and BI (Looker,
