The BUD oversees the therapeutic areas of PH, HIV, Legacy and Immunology.\nAs a member of the Country Leadership Team, the BUD co-owns the overall success of our company, actively shaping strategy, culture, and cross-functional performance beyond the boundaries of the own Business Unit.\nKey Accountabilities\n1. Business Strategy & Performance\nOwn full P&L accountability for the Business Unit, including revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.\nDevelop and execute long-term strategy, LROP, annual operating and financial plans, aligned with global and regional priorities.\nAnticipate market, competitive, and policy trends and translate them into clear strategic choices and execution priorities.\nTake decisive course-correction actions when performance deviates from plan.\n2. Commercial & Operational Excellence\nAccountable for end-to-end commercialization of our strong portfolio (and potential future products in the portfolio)brand strategy and execution,\nomnichannel and digital engagement,\nsales excellence and incentive effectiveness,\nforecasting, supply coordination, and launch readiness.\n\nEnsure that products reach patients ethically, compliantly and within label at all times.\nUse insights and competitive intelligence to shape sustainable market access and growth.\n3. Leadership & People\nLead, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse leadership team within the Business Unit.\nOwn talent development, succession planning, engagement and retention.\nAct as a visible role model for Enterprise Leadership Skills, inclusive leadership, and our Ways of Working.\nFoster a culture of accountability, trust, psychological safety, and performance.\n4. Enterprise & Country Leadership\nActively contribute to Country Leadership Team decisions, balancing Business Unit priorities with overall country needs.\nDrive cross-BU and cross-functional collaboration, resolving trade-offs constructively.\nShape and uphold the site culture, values, and agreed leadership behaviours.\n5. External & Matrix Stakeholder Management\nBuild and maintain senior relationships with key external stakeholders (KOLs, health system leaders, institutional partners).\nNavigate a complex regional and global matrix, ensuring alignment while advocating effectively for country and patient needs.\nRepresent the Business Unit and our company with credibility, integrity, and judgment.\nQualifications & Experience\nUniversity degree in biosciences or business; MBA or PhD preferred.\n10+ years of senior leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.\nDemonstrated P&L ownership and delivery of sustained business results.\nProven experience in:brand and portfolio management,\nproduct launch and lifecycle management,\nomnichannel and digital commercialization,\nleading in matrixed, international environments.\n\nStrong track record in people leadership, coaching, and talent development.\nExcellent stakeholder management skills with customers, KOLs, internal leadership, and external partners.\nStrong integrity, judgment, and uncompromising compliance mindset.\nBusiness-level fluency in English; German strongly preferred for the Austrian market.\nLeadership Profile\nThe successful candidate:\nOperates as a true enterprise leader, not a functional silo head.\nDemonstrates ownership, courage, and accountability for decisions and outcomes.\nBalances performance pressure with inclusive, human leadership.\nThinks strategically while executing with discipline.\nLeads change with clarity, empathy, and resilience\nWe offer an attractive salary, outstanding social benefits and an exciting work environment with varied tasks in an international environment.
