The site plays a pivotal role in the manufacture of our Company’s biologics-based medicines, including immuno-oncology, and it has expanded our Company’s current internal network of biologics drug substance manufacturing plants since full manufacturing operations began in 2021.\nOur Engineering Centre of Excellence (CoE) team in Biotech have an opportunity for a highly motivated Engineering Specialist to join the team.\nYou will lead strategic initiatives across sustainability, business continuity, continuous improvement stakeholder engagement and asset reliability, driving operational excellence and delivering measurable business outcomes.\nBring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:\nLead sustainability and energy management initiatives in support of site and corporate environmental goals.\nSupport the site's Sustainability Program and associated sustainability, energy management, and environmental improvement activities.\nSupport delivery of Net Zero objectives and energy reduction initiatives.\nMonitor and report sustainability, utility, and energy performance metrics.\nSupport ISO 50001 Energy Management System activities and continuous improvement initiatives.\nOwn and maintain site Business Continuity Plan (BCP).\nLead risk assessments and resilience planning for critical infrastructure and utility systems.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, quality, compliance, and cost reduction.\nManage utility billing processes and support budgeting and forecasting activities.\nAnalyse utility consumption and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimisation.\nDevelop business cases to support engineering, sustainability, and asset improvement projects.\nAct as the primary engineering liaison with the Council and other relevant external stakeholders.\nLead engineering studies, asset lifecycle reviews, and infrastructure assessments.\nSupport troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and technical problem-solving activities.\nDevelop dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support data-driven decision making.\nCollaborate across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Facilities, and Finance functions.\nPresent project updates, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to site leadership.\nIn order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:\nBachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering/Mechanical/Chemical/Process/ Energy or related Engineering discipline.\nMinimum 3 years engineering experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.\nExperience in sustainability, utilities management, continuous improvement, engineering project delivery, budgeting, and forecasting.\nStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.\nKnowledge of reliability engineering and continuous improvement methodologies\nAbility to influence and drive change across cross-functional teams.\nWe keep the patient at the very heart of all that we do and strive to find solutions and treatments for some of the world's most challenging healthcare needs.\nWe are committed to flexible working where possible, and this is why our Company has introduced a new hybrid working model for office-based colleagues around the world.\nPlease feel free to speak to us about what flexibility means to you during your application.\nSo, if you are ready to:\nInvent solutions to meet unmet healthcare needs, please apply today.\nAdditional location(s) Compensation Information:\nRequired Skills:\nAsset Reliability, Business Continuity, Collaboration, Continuous Improvement, Energy Sustainability, Manufacturing Operations, Strategic Initiative, Sustainability, Utilities Management, Vendor ManagementPreferred Skills:\nCurrent Employees apply HERE\nCurrent Contingent Workers apply HERE\nSearch Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully\nMerck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
