This role is critical to driving market growth and ensuring successful execution of strategic priorities.\nWHAT YOU MUST HAVE\nKey responsibilities\nTeam leadership and development: Hire, coach, mentor and appraise 4 product managers; build a high-performing, commercially focused marketing team\n\nStrategic planning: Develop and execute the local marketing strategy that aligns with BUD and MD priorities and the broader regional/global strategic framework\n\nCommercial delivery: Own P&L contribution targets for the franchise and translate strategy into actionable plans that drive brand growth\n\nMarketing operations: Oversee campaign planning, budgeting, resource allocation, launch readiness, and performance tracking to ensure efficient and compliant execution\n\nCross-functional collaboration: Act as the primary marketing liaison across Medical, Sales, Market Access & External Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and other functions to ensure cohesive market execution\n\nCapability building: Strengthen local marketing capabilities, processes and governance to improve speed-to-market, decision-making and analytic rigor\n\nStakeholder management: Present plans and results to senior leadership; manage expectations and escalate risks or opportunities as needed\n\nCompliance and governance: Ensure all marketing activities adhere to local regulations and company policies\n\nMarket insights and performance measurement: Use market, competitive and customer insights to inform strategy; define KPIs and monitor campaign and product performance\n\nWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT\nQualifications\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or related field\n\nExperience: 8+ years in pharmaceutical marketing, with demonstrable experience in oncology preferred; prior experience leading teams of product managers, strong experience in different product life cycle, and managing high-value brands\n\nCommercial acumen: Proven track record of developing and executing strategies that deliver measurable commercial results\n\nCross-functional influence: Strong experience working with Medical Affairs, Sales, Market Access & External Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Legal teams\n\nLeadership and people management: Experience building and developing high-performing teams; strong coaching and performance management skills\n\nAnalytical skills: Comfort with data-driven decision making, KPI setting and performance analytics\n\nCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin (local dialect preferred)\n\nRegulatory/compliance awareness: Knowledge of local pharmaceutical regulations and industry codes of practice\n\nKey competencies and behaviors\nStrategic thinker with hands-on execution capability\n\nStrong stakeholder management and influencing skills\n\nResults-oriented with a bias for action and accountability\n\nCollaborative, team-first mindset\n\nHigh integrity and commitment to compliance\n\nWho we are\nWe are known as Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, New Jersey, USA in the United States and Canada and MSD everywhere else.
