An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scientific Sales Specialist within the Companion Animal Business Unit. This field-based role will play a critical part in strengthening scientific leadership, customer engagement and sustainable business growth across the business unit.
The position is designed for a high-potential technical-commercial professional with the ambition, learning agility and leadership mindset to grow into broader responsibilities over time. The role will also provide the opportunity to contribute to a strong innovation pipeline, supporting both current strategic priorities and future product launches that will shape the growth of the Companion Animal Business Unit over the coming years.
This person must be based in Spain and willing to travel.
What you will do
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:
- Identify, engage and develop relationships with national and regional Key Opinion Leaders, building strong advocacy networks and increasing our Animal Health’s scientific influence.
- Support advisory boards, scientific collaborations, congress participation and educational initiatives that accelerate customer confidence and product adoption.
- Manage and develop strategic stakeholder relationships, including Key Opinion Leaders, high-potential veterinary practices, strategic distributors and selected corporate veterinary groups, partnering with Key Account Managers and relevant cross-functional teams on customer development plans.
- Deliver scientific education and value-based engagement programs tailored to Key Opinion Leaders, corporate customers and strategic stakeholders.
- Identify and engage veterinary practices with significant growth potential, collaborating with Sales Representatives, Key Account Managers and distributors to support customer acquisition and development.
- Support planning and execution of product launches, deliver scientific training on new products and technologies, and contribute field insights to launch optimization and post-launch performance reviews.
What skills you will need
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
- Solid experience within Animal Health, ideally combining technical, scientific and commercial exposure.
- Proven experience engaging with veterinarians, KOLs and key stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on KOL engagement and advocacy development, while also supporting corporate veterinary groups, strategic distributors and high-potential clinics.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Spain as part of a field-based role.
- Experience supporting product launches and innovation adoption initiatives.
- Strong understanding of companion animal market dynamics.
- Fluent English, with the ability to communicate effectively in international and cross-functional environments.
- Demonstrated learning agility, curiosity and readiness to take on increasing levels of responsibility.
- By combining scientific credibility, commercial execution and cross-functional influence, the role will provide strong exposure to strategic business priorities and will contribute to building future leadership capabilities within the unit.
