Responsibilities of the Role:\nDesign Leadership & Technical Stewardship\nLead the architectural design development for all data centre buildings, ensuring compliance with client standards, local regulations, mission-critical performance criteria, and coordination with MEP, structural, and specialist systems.\nMaintain and manage the controlled architectural document register, ensuring all drawings, specifications, and revisions are issued, tracked, and archived in accordance with project protocols.\nOversee the integration of architectural requirements into multidisciplinary models, ensuring spatial accuracy, interface clarity, and coordinated design outputs suitable for construction.\nReview and validate architectural design deliverables to ensure they are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with the overall design intent.\nCoordination & Interface Management\nLead architectural coordination with MEP, structural, fire engineering, security, ICT, and specialist vendors, ensuring all interfaces are resolved and documented.\nManage architectural inputs for off-site pre-manufactured components, ensuring spatial, access, and installation requirements are fully integrated into the design.\nSupport the development and maintenance of the Design Delivery Schedule, coordinating architectural milestones with the client, PM, consultants, and contractor teams.\nParticipate in design workshops, technical reviews, and coordination meetings, providing continuous architectural input to minimise rework and maintain design efficiency.\nDesign Assurance & Compliance\nEnsure architectural design compliance with building codes, fire regulations, accessibility standards, sustainability requirements, and mission-critical operational criteria.\nReview and approve architectural elements within technical submittals, ensuring alignment with design intent and project specifications.\nProvide architectural oversight on contractor-designed portions (CDP), ensuring proposed solutions meet performance, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.\nChange Management & Value Engineering\nIdentify and evaluate architectural value-engineering opportunities, balancing cost, performance, constructability, and long-term operational considerations.\nCollaborate with the commercial team to assess design change impacts, providing architectural input on scope, cost, and schedule implications.\nSupport risk management by tracking architectural design issues, constraints, and dependencies across internal and external stakeholders.\nProcurement & Consultant Management\nPrepare and develop architectural scopes of work, design deliverables lists, and contract documentation for consultant procurement.\nLead architectural consultant engagement from tender enquiry through appointment, including scope negotiation, deliverables definition, and performance expectations.\nManage workload distribution across the architectural team and external consultants, ensuring timely delivery of coordinated architectural outputs.\nConstruction Support & Methodology\nProvide architectural input into construction methodology, sequencing, and site logistics, ensuring design intent is preserved during installation.\nSupport site teams with technical clarifications, architectural details, and resolution of design queries during construction.\nEnsure specialist models and fabrication drawings are architecturally coordinated and suitable for construction release.\nStakeholder Engagement\nLiaise with clients, insurers, consultants, and statutory authorities, ensuring architectural requirements are clearly communicated and approvals are obtained.\nWork in accordance with company procedures, project governance, and quality assurance frameworks.\nEssential Criteria for the Role:\n8-10+ years’ experience in building design and construction, ideally within mission-critical, industrial, or high-spec technical facilities.\nDemonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams (Architecture, MEP, Structural, Fire, Security, ICT, Specialist Vendors) through all project phases.\nProven experience managing design development, design reviews, interface resolution, and coordination workshops in complex technical projects.\nStrong background in design management, including programme tracking, deliverables management, fee/time oversight, and consultant performance monitoring.\nExperience working within a BIM-led environment, including model coordination, clash detection, and integration of architectural requirements into federated models.\nWorking knowledge of French building regulations, planning/statutory approvals, and compliance pathways (or ability to rapidly acquire).\nHigh proficiency in architectural software tools (Revit, BIM platforms, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and standard office applications).\nExceptional attention to detail, particularly in interface management, spatial coordination, and technical accuracy.\nStrong interpersonal, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to lead coordination across consultants, contractors, and client teams.\nDemonstrated pride in quality, clarity, and presentation of architectural deliverables.\nExcellent communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal.\nDirect experience in data centre, industrial, or large-scale technical infrastructure projects is required.\nExperience working with a main contractor is preferred; however, strong backgrounds from architectural or engineering design offices are
