We are a unified team that is continuously discovering the best ways to serve our customers.\nSUMMARY\nThe Remote Technician will perform complex technical troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs to the Company’s fleet of ground support equipment. The Remote Technician performs most duties independently at customer locations and serves as the primary point deployed resource for technical issues. The Technician will be responsible for fostering and building customer trust to grow relationships with Mercury GSE.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential requirement that represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an \"at-will\" relationship.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as\njet engine fumes, dust, or jet engine noise:\nServe as customer contact on technical equipment issues as required.\nEstablish, grow, and nurture customer relationships.\nPerform a necessary sequence of operations to troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, check, repair, rework, replace, fabricate, assemble, install, and adjust ground support equipment, machinery, accessories, parts, etc. and explain the work procedures to personnel assigned to aid in that work. \nDemonstrate strong self-management, field diagnostics expertise, and customer-facing professionalism while meeting Mercury GSE standards for safety, quality, and documentation.\nPossess expert-level knowledge of primary and sub-hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.\nDiagnose and repair of powertrain assemblies and sub-assemblies and components.\nUtilize diagnostic tools to test, analyze, and collect data for repairs and equipment calibration.\nHeavily relied upon to perform advance diagnostics and capable of completing complicated repairs\nProficient in the use of diagnostic software and able to read, delete, and regenerate utilizing diagnostic software.\nAble to read and navigate electrical and hydraulic schematics.\nPossess advanced knowledge and capability of troubleshooting (schematics/flowcharts) repairs and adjust electrical and hydraulic systems and components.\nduplicated above\nDiagnose and repair/replace air conditioning systems and components (compressor evaporator, condenser, etc.)\nPerform quality control checks on completed maintenance and repairs.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements in GSE maintenance and operations, implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations team.\nAble to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle\nComplete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.\nEnsure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition.\nReport any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or improperly performed work to supervisor or lead.\nResponsible for following the rules and regulations set forth by federal, local, state government and Mercury GSE.\nKeep the work area clean and free of any safety hazards.\nPerform other related duties as assigned or requested. Mercury GSE reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. \nTRAVEL REQUIREMENT\nThis position requires regular travel to customer locations within the assigned region. Periodic out-of-area travel will be required based on business needs. \nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities\nRequirements\nJOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nEducation and/or Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n7+ years progressively responsible experience in heavy diesel vehicle experience preferred\nProven history of effectively interacting with customers, problem solving issues, and building positive customer relations.\nExpert knowledge of ground support equipment inspection and ability to diagnose mechanical equipment issues\nAble to work independently with limited direct supervision in a remote/field-based role\nDemonstrated ability to manage priorities and service calls in a customer-driven environment\nAble to complete and submit service documentation (work orders, inspection reports, diagnostics) and communicate status updates remotely\nPossess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills\nAble to read electrical and hydraulic schematics\nMust be able to travel 100% of the time, within short notice at some opportunities\nTravel will consist of domestic and international to support Mercury GSE customers \nMust perform work with own tools\nMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license\nValid ASE certification or other Diesel certification is a plus\nMust be able to secure proper airport authority security badges.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND, SAFETY\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
