In this essential role, you will support patient care by ensuring supplies, equipment, and linen are accurately received, stocked, distributed, and maintained throughout the hospital.\nThe Supply Chain Technician utilizes inventory management and supply chain software systems to support hospital operations, maintain appropriate inventory levels, deliver critical supplies, and assist with equipment and linen distribution. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to internal customers.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupply Distribution & Inventory Management\nFill supply orders accurately and efficiently using supply chain software systems.\nProcure requested supplies and issue inventory to appropriate departments and locations.\nStock supplies in designated bins, PAR locations, specialty carts, and other assigned areas.\nVerify correct products and quantities are received and stocked.\nRotate inventory to minimize waste and prevent expired products.\nMonitor inventory levels and notify inventory control personnel when stock is low.\nEnsure package integrity and sterility standards are maintained where applicable.\nApply and print patient charging labels as necessary.\nAccurately count inventory and track deliveries using supply chain software.\nDeliver requested supplies to appropriate locations throughout the hospital.\nReceiving & Distribution\nReceive supplies and equipment accurately through supply chain management systems.\nResearch and resolve lost or missing packages.\nReport receiving discrepancies and inventory variances according to established procedures.\nPrepare supplies and equipment for distribution and delivery.\nObtain required receiving signatures when applicable.\nLinen Services\nMaintain linen inventory at designated PAR levels throughout assigned areas.\nStock linen closets, exchange carts, blanket warmers, and other designated locations.\nRotate linen inventory to ensure appropriate utilization and quality standards.\nIdentify and remove linen that does not meet hospital quality standards.\nHandle clean and soiled linen according to hospital protocols and infection prevention guidelines.\nCommunicate low linen inventory levels to leadership and vendors as appropriate.\nUtilize technology systems to manage deliveries and pickups, including robotics and automated transport systems where applicable.\nEquipment Distribution & Support\nProcure and distribute medical equipment to requested locations.\nRetrieve equipment according to hospital infection control procedures.\nClean and prepare equipment for patient use following established guidelines.\nAssemble equipment as needed.\nStage damaged equipment for Clinical Engineering review and repair.\nCustomer Service & Team Support\nProvide excellent customer service to clinical and non-clinical departments.\nMake service recovery decisions within departmental guidelines.\nUtilize work time effectively to support hospital operations and patient care.\nAssist with departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.\nSupport training and orientation of new Supply Chain team members.\nTechnology & Compliance\nDemonstrate proficiency with supply chain software systems and inventory management tools.\nPerform accurate data entry, inventory transfers, tracking, and documentation activities.\nUtilize Microsoft Office applications and other technology tools as required.\nComplete all required education, competencies, and mandatory training on time.\nAdhere to all Mercy policies, safety standards, infection prevention guidelines, and departmental procedures.\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience\nNo prior experience required.\nSkills & Knowledge\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nBasic computer proficiency and ability to learn inventory management software systems.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nStrong customer service and communication skills.\nAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience in supply chain, inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, distribution, healthcare, or customer service environments.\nExperience using computerized inventory or supply chain management systems.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office applications.\nWhy Mercy?\nAt Mercy, every role contributes to delivering exceptional patient care.
