This position focuses on resolving complex production issues, improving equipment and process performance, and leading cross-functional automation, operational-efficiency, and capital-equipment projects.\nThe role applies mechanical, electrical, automation, controls, and process-engineering knowledge to maintain reliable manufacturing operations and implement sustainable improvements. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer also supports the design, specification, procurement, integration, qualification, and lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment and serves as a senior technical resource for Production, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, Facilities, R&D, Procurement, and equipment vendors.\nThis is a first shift Monday-Friday position!\nKey Duties\nProcess ManagementOwner of periodic reviews of maintenance and validation activities for major production equipment to identify process improvement and efficiency projects. Includes review and data analytics of complex manufacturing systems.\nLead cross-functional teams to ensure production equipment maintains design requirements and meets operational goals and user needs. \nManages the URS, FAT, and SAT process for new production equipment.\n\nEquipment procurementMentors and assists other Engineers in the identification and procurement of manufacturing equipment and automation\n\nEnsures completion of design documentation (URS, FAT, and SAT) for new equipment procurement according to internal procedures and in accordance with industry standards (GAMP, ASTM E2500)\nIdentifies, qualifies, and works with equipment vendors.\nLeads cross functional procurement team.\nPerforms project management activities to ensure projects are on time, within budget, and successful.\nValidationSupports validation engineers for equipment qualification.\nAuthor, obtain appropriate approvals, and perform validation studies.\n\nMaintenanceSupport maintenance staff to service equipment as needed.\nSupplies troubleshooting support to help identify the causes of product/production related problems.\nDesign and implement process improvements and corrective actions.\n\nProcess DesignDesigns full-scale manufacturing equipment and/or processes for new products from R&D\n\nGeneralRead, understand, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures and accurately complete all required documentation per SOP requirements.\nPerform all duties in accordance with safety rules as well as appropriate industry and regulatory guidelines.\nCommunicates clearly and effectively with department peers, manufacturing personnel, as well as supervisors, managers, and directors.\nAssist and train employees on proper equipment operation.\nWrite and/or modify manufacturing and equipment related procedures as needed.\nUpdate and maintain facility maps.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering field required.\nA minimum of four years of experience in equipment procurement and/or process design.\nPrevious experience in and FDA regulated production environment is desirable\nMust possess a working knowledge of the Metric System\nAdvanced computer skills required (Word, Excel, CAD knowledge, PLC Database).\nProficient in CAD. Solidworks and AutoCard experience preferred.\nProficient in programming, specifically industrial control systems and ladder logic.
