Meets with other members of the production management team to determine daily production priorities and to monitor production standards.\n2. Manages manufacturing operations to ensure that all needs are met for Merit's manufacturing and sub-assembly process and that resources are provided to obtain peak performance.\n3. Provides managerial and technical support to assist others to achieve their assigned job tasks.\n4. Resolves problems to ensure that quality needs are being met and manufacturing criteria are adhered to.\n5. Provides input for manufacturing project approval and evaluates the performance of employees as related to those projects.\n6. Plans and generates estimates for the manufacturing department to foresee future obstacles and provides leadership to overcome them.\n7. Performs management assignments for the department such as interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, training, employee discipline, termination, and work review/scheduling.\n8. May discipline and monitor time and attendance of employees assigned to non-primary shifts and has authority to take appropriate actions to ensure site integrity.\n9. May assume responsibility for new or existing departments or operations during a volume ramp up period or coverage situations.\n10. Performs other managerial tasks.\nESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS\nLifting -- Not to exceed 50 lbs. - local practice may apply.\nWriting\nSitting\nStanding\nBending\nVision\nColor perception\nDepth perception\nReading\nField of vision/peripheral\nFine motor skills\nNoise\nChemical vapors\nSoldering fumes\nSUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation and/or experience equivalent to at least a Bachelor' Degree with emphasis in manufacturing engineering and operations.\nA minimum of six years of related managerial experience, with two years of extensive technical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. \nAbility to creatively solve problems in meeting the product development and manufacturing needs of a medical manufacturing organization.\nAbility to work as a member of a top management team to accomplish organizational objectives and meet organizational quotas.\nKnowledge of and experience in utilizing Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and other manufacturing process controls. \nKnowledge of the application of principles of Total Quality Management in a manufacturing environment.\nDemonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database, and other applicable software programs.\nCOMPETENCIES\nDaily production priorities/production standards monitoring\nManufacturing operation management\nProduct development and manufacturing problem solving/quality/standards\nBudget\nSupervisory process/hiring/training/performance evaluation/salary/discipline\nCOMMENTS\nInfectious Control Risk Category III:\nThe risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs.
