This role will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting month-end close, and strengthening our internal controls framework. The Accounting Manager must possess strong analytical skills, deep understanding of GAAP, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.\nResponsibilities\nManage all financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.\nReview the creation of and own the maintenance of project-level accounts, ensuring all postings, allocations, accruals, and payments are completed on schedule.\nReview monthly job reports and proactively identify risks, margin erosion, underbillings, overbillings, or schedule affecting issues.\nEnsure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, addressing any discrepancies or financial issues that arise during the project lifecycle to ensure proper percentage of completion accounting for all projects.\nCollaborate with sales teams regarding billing, payments, and project financials, resolving any issues that may arise.\nLead recurring meetings and ad hoc meetings to troubleshoot issues with job financials; coordinate with other departments to remediate any and all related issues.\nEnsure correct application of percentage of completion accounting, aligning with project lifecycle and delivery phases.\nSupport the accounting team in overseeing aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.\nProactively identify and address discrepancies, errors, or irregularities in financial data. Work quickly and efficiently to resolve issues, ensuring that accounting records remain precise and reliable.\nAssist in and support process improvement projects.\nPrepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for external auditors.\nOther duties and special projects as defined.\n\nRequirements\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.\nCPA license preferred.\nStrong Excel skills required.\nHighly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.\nHigh level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nTeamwork oriented, working with all levels and departments of the organization.\nProficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O (or equivalent ERP) highly desired.\n5-8 years of accounting experience; project-based or construction/engineering/HVAC Industry strongly preferred preferably in an industry that utilizes percentage of completion.\n\nOther Skills & Abilities\nLanguage Skills\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.\nReasoning\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
