Cleaner - Part Time

Mervin Manufacturing home of Lib Tech, GNU and Bent Metal is a leading designer and manufacturer of snowboarding, skiing, surfing, wakesurfing and skateboarding products built at the world’s most environMENTAL factory by people who ride them. Mervin Manufacturing was founded by snowboarders Mike Olson and Pete Saari in 1977. In an industry where virtually every other snowboard, ski, skateboard, and surfboard company has moved production to China or offshore, Mervin is the longest running and last major board building factory in the USA. Based out of Carlsborg, Washington, between the rugged Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges, Mervin is a direct link between riding and manufacturing.

Job purpose

To provide cleaning services for the various departments and buildings at our manufacturing facility. This is a part-time position, roughly 16-20 hours per week. Ideally, this person would be available in the afternoons/evenings but there is some flexibility in the schedule.

Duties and responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize and restock restrooms
• Sweep floors and stairs
• Wipe down doorknobs and handrails
• Sweep & mop office floors
• Wipe down tables and counters in breakrooms
• Dust blinds and clean windows
• Gather and empty trash from all buildings and outside areas

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job repetitively.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Industrial cleaning experience preferred but not required
• Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.

• Must have a high level of initiative and ability to work with minimal direction.

Physical requirements

• Required to regularly stand and walk in indoor and outdoor conditions
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell
• Occasionally required to assist and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close vision and distance vision
