In an industry where virtually every other snowboard, ski, and surfboard company has moved production to China or offshore, Mervin is the longest running and last major board building factory in the USA. Based out of Carlsborg, Washington, between the rugged Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges, Mervin is a direct link between riding and manufacturing.\nJob Purpose:\nEdging and preparation of snowboard bases and cores.\nDuties and responsibilities:\nMeasure, cut, anneal, punch, sandblast and bend steel. \nUse of hand tools to fit and glue steel to base. \nUse of jig to edge ski and split bases. \nMatch side sticks and core profiles and cut sticks to length. \nGlue side sticks and tip/tail material to core profiles. \nPlace binding inserts into designated areas on core. \nMaintain cleanliness of work area. \nWear assigned and applicable personal protective equipment (PPE). \nWork safely. \nOther duties may be assigned. \nQualifications:\nMust be able to lift 50 pounds. \nMust be able to follow written and verbal instructions. \nAdaptable to minor alterations in daily expectations. \nAble to read and do simple arithmetic \nGood communication skills. \nWill be working with hands 100% of the time. Strong eye-hand coordination a plus. \nSelf-motivated with excellent attention to detail. \nAbility to work both independently and as a team player \nPhysical requirements:\nRequired to regularly stand and walk \nFrequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms \nOccasionally required to climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell \nRegularly required to assist and lift up to 65 pounds. \nFrequently required to assist and lift up to 50 pounds. \nVision requirements include close vision and distance vision \nBecome part of the Mervin Team!\nPosition Hours are Monday - Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am\nPay Range: $18.30 to $21.05 per hour PLUS an additional $1.50/hr shift differential\nStarting rate is $18.30/hr with a $1.10/hr increase once fully trained and meeting quality and quota expectations.
