Don’t delay, plug in today for an inclusive meaningful career in power, distribution, transmission, engineering, design, technology, or innovation at Mesa Associates, Inc.\nMesa seeks a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer who will work with other members of the engineering team to deliver projects of varying complexity and size for our fossil and hydro power generation clients. Daily tasks will include design support for additions and modifications to power generation related structures including:\nMechanical and electrical equipment supports, racks, foundations, and anchorages\nPre-engineered metal building foundations\nSteel-framed, concrete, or masonry buildings\nPersonnel access platforms, walkways, stairways, etc.\nRetaining walls Lifting and rigging analysis and component design\nEducation/Experience/Licensure:\nBS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.\n8+ years of experience\nCalifornia PE or ability to obtain within 6 months. Structural PE preferred.\nResponsibilities:\nPreparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documents such as design criteria, calculations, drawings, and specifications.\nAssist in the definition of project objectives, preparation of design estimates, and definition of project requirements and routine design approaches.\nResponsible for scoping, estimating, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering projects, which may have unique or complex technical or project execution requirements.\nPerforms technical and coordination checking review of deliverables and other project documents and ensures deliverables comply with company procedures and applicable design requirements.\nMust be capable of preparing/checking calculations using engineering formulas and skills or using specific structural analysis software such as STAAD, Risa, Enercalc, etc.\nShould have experience with calculations using MathCAD and Excel.\nMust have knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, AISC 341, and ACI 318.\nMust be willing to travel on a regular basis (primarily day trips, with some overnights), mostly within California.\nAssists in the resolution of construction issues, supporting design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely fashion.\nMinimum qualifications for this position include:\nCA PE or ability to obtain with 6 months.\nExperience with industry standard structural analysis software (i.e. STAAD, Risa, Enercalc, etc.)\nExperience with calculations using MathCAD and Excel\nExperience with ACI 318 and Appendix D anchorage designs\nExperience with 2D AutoCAD drafting and 3D/BIM modeling Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IBC, CBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, AISC 341, ACI 318, etc.)\nSeismic design experience with concrete and steel.\nExcellent interpersonal and written communication skills.\nWell organized and self-motivated to complete tasks within agreed to schedules\nAdherence to Mesa quality program Creative thinking and ability to judge between alternate solutions to provide the optimal solution\nSafety consciousness and strict adherence to company and client safety standards\nAbility to travel on a regular basis (primarily day trips, with some overnights) US citizen\nIdeal candidates will possess the following skills and experience: MSCE with structural emphasis from an ABET accredited school\nFamiliarity power generating utility processes is preferred\nProficiency with industry standard structural analysis software, including Finite Element Analysis program\nBenefits:\nPaid Time Off\nHoliday Pay - 10 Annually\nGroup Medical/Dental Insurance\nLife Insurance (Company Paid)\nDisability Insurance (Company Paid)\n401(K) Retirement Savings Plan\n401(K) Matching Contribution\nSection 125 / Cafeteria Plan\nLong Term Care Insurance\nTuition Reimbursement\nFitness Center Reimbursement\nAnnual Performance Bonus\n9/80 Work Schedule\nAnnual Salary Range:\n$125,643.12-$174,674.04\nThe expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department’s fiscal resources.\nNotice to External Search Firms: Mesa Associates, Inc. and its subsidiaries do not accept unsolicited resumes and will not be obligated to pay a placement fee for unsolicited resumes.
