This role involves supporting project management activities for substation projects, material ordering and tracking, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery.\nThe project manager's primary functions are to support, monitor, and manage power delivery design projects. The objective is to deliver successful project results by ensuring goals and objectives are achieved while all business processes and applicable procedures are followed.\nThis position requires a working knowledge of power industry practices, standards, and processes, as well as the use of independent judgment, enhanced verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision with the support of an experienced design team. Additionally, this position requires the ability to oversee broad scope projects that have medium to long-term focus and the knowledge to resolve complex problems independently under the direction of the program manager or project lead.\nThe successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited curriculum, along with a minimum of 4+ years of project management experience.\nDesired PM Functions:\nSupport assigned project team, ensuring project goals/objectives are achieved and all business processes and applicable procedures are followed.\nComplete project planning documents, which include project execution plan, project initiation documentation, communication plans, and RFI (request for information) logs, while looking for and finding ways to improve operations and process efficiency.\nAssist the project team in monitoring and tracking the project schedule and budget while satisfying customer expectations and project requirements.\nWork with the project team to identify, document, and resolve changes impacting schedule and budget performance.\nIdentify, document, assign, and track project issues through resolution. Accountable for identifying and resolving possible risks and developing/monitoring risk plans.\nKeep the project status reporting system current with the actions and changes on assigned projects.\nAssist the program manager/project leads in controlling project expenditures and schedule performance as necessary to fulfill requirements and ensure satisfactory budget performance.\nWork with project coordinators and project controllers to forecast spending and accruals.\nCommunicate effectively with cross-functional teams within multiple programs on project statuses, budgets, and areas for improvement.\nAssist the design team in resolving technical issues, coordinating design/construction activities and flow of technical information and tracking/resolving action items and information requests.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nKnowledge of power utility substation design projects.\n\nAbility to manage a large quantity of projects as a portfolio and provide quick responses when updates are requested.\nAbility to interpret written/documented scopes of work, scheduling, and related project design/construct criteria and guide others in application to engineering design.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nPossess solid verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to coordinate and interface with all stakeholders at a high professional level.\nDisplay strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.\nStrong capability in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and scheduling software, as well as possessing working knowledge of corporate accounting practices and business operations.\nWillingness to develop, promote, and comply with Mesa safety requirements.\nWillingness to attend meetings at substations while on premises and participate in client engagement meetings while adhering to all safety protocols issued by Mesa Associates, Inc., and the client’s regulations.\nNotice to External Search Firms: Mesa Associates, Inc. and its subsidiaries do not accept unsolicited resumes and will not be obligated to pay a placement fee for unsolicited resumes.
