The role involves conducting thorough financial and credit risk assessments for a wide range of corporate and financial counterparties, with a primary focus on European energy markets.\nBeyond strong core credit skills, we are looking for an analytical and digitally minded professional who is comfortable using modern data and technology tools to improve the quality, efficiency and scalability of credit risk analysis. The role provides an opportunity to develop practical capabilities in data analytics, automation and AI as these increasingly become part of the day-to-day work of a Credit Risk Analyst.\nBased in Budapest, the position is part of the Global Credit Risk Function supporting our commercial operations and reports directly to the Credit Risk Team Lead and indirectly to the Head of Credit.\nEssential responsibilities\nCredit Risk Assessment & Portfolio Management\nPerform in-depth qualitative and quantitative credit risk analyses of corporate and financial counterpartie\nPrepare clear, structured and decision-oriented credit assessments, including ratings, credit limits and recommendations.\nMaintain and review key credit risk metrics, including ratings, PDs, limits and utilisation.\nIdentify early-warning signals and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures, including collateral, prepayments, limit adjustments and action plans.\nContribute to portfolio and sector reviews, stress testing and scenario analysis.\nSupport recovery and workout activities for financially distressed counterparties.\nRisk Monitoring, Reporting & Governance\nMonitor exposure developments and anticipate potential credit limit breaches, ensuring timely escalation\nContribute to regular credit risk and portfolio reporting.\nPresent credit views in internal working groups and governance forums.\nSupport Credit Risk Insurance activities, including limit monitoring and periodic declarations.\nContribute to the continuous development of credit risk methodologies and best practices.\nData, Analytics & Technology-Enabled Credit Risk\nUse data, analytics and digital tools to enhance credit analysis, portfolio monitoring and reporting.\nIdentify opportunities to automate repetitive activities and improve the efficiency and consistency of credit processes.\nSupport the development of portfolio-level analytics and early-warning capabilities.\nExplore practical applications of (e.g. Excel modelling, Power BI, Python, SQL, VBA, low-code tools and AI) automation in credit risk management.\nCollaborate with Credit, IT and Digital Transformation teams on relevant initiatives.\n 2-5 years of experience in credit risk, financial analysis or risk management\nUniversity degree in Finance or economics\nExposure to the energy, utilities, commodities, renewables, or energy trading industries is a strong advantage\nStrong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, leverage, liquidity and key credit risk drivers\nExperience with Power BI, Python, SQL, VBA, low-code solutions, AI-enabled tools or similar technologies is an advantage\nStrong interest in using analytics, automation and AI to solve practical business problems and improve credit risk processes\nComfortable working with large datasets, imperfect information and tight deadlines\nWillingness to continuously develop digital and analytical capabilities as the Credit Risk Analyst role evolves\nAdvanced Excel skills are expected\nFluency in English;
