Our team is the execution arm of the Meta network team and is responsible for the deployment and support of all Edge production networks (Edge, Backbone, Optical) across the globe. This truly global team offers a unique career opportunity to work with all of the latest network technologies and engineers solving some of the most complex problems in the industry.Responsibilities\nDeploy and support our global production including edge, backbone, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure Work cross-functionally with project management, network engineering to generate implementation plans including Method of Procedure (MOP) and Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Design Packages (EDP), Scope of Works (SOW), Network equipment and server Rack Face Elevations (RFE) Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, collaborate as needed to ensure timely resolution Provide technical leadership and guidance during network deployment activities in our POPs, including in the areas of facility power, cooling, rack layout and cable management, physical equipment installation, network equipment configuration, testing, and handoff for production traffic Drive problem management initiatives to solve complex issues that span multiple organizations. Initiatives exist globally across technical infrastructure reliability, policy, security, compliance, and business strategy Help drive and align on workflow management tool requirements - efficiency and automation roadmaps Manage partner engineering team relationships to enable the teams to effectively meet business needs Create deployment install packages and maintain as-built documentation and asset database for network and computing equipment Establish and implement global best practices and contribute to the design of new, scalable network solutions Support the development, testing, and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network Develop and maintain technical documentation for network infrastructure and services 10% to 30% travel required\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience Move to RESPONSIBILITIES section (it already appears there) 8+ years of IP networking experience with deploying, migrating, and supporting service providers, data center, and/or enterprise network infrastructure Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP) Experience in coordinating and executing hardware installation and configuration Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6 Hands-on experience with enterprise and carrier-class routing, switching, and optical transport platforms Knowledge of data center design and operational best practices Experience with Linux OS/networking.
