You’ll have a unique opportunity to shape the development of one of the world’s largest, global and most innovative fiber networks. Meta’s network has grown significantly over the last 10 years and we expect to more than double the footprint in the next few to support our existing 3+ billion customers and enable new services. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with our broader Network Engineering team to tackle these hard and long term network infrastructure problems to deliver network capacity at scale.
Who we are
Network Investments' mission is to scale Meta's network infrastructure to enable the evolution of social technologies. Specifically, we invest in and develop complex subsea cables and terrestrial networks to connect Meta’s data centers (DCs), Edge Points of Presence (PoPs) and Meta Network Appliances across the globe. We source or invest in third-party infrastructure and develop Meta’s own-build subsea cables and terrestrial fiber capacity.
We are seeking a Network Strategy & Data Analytics Lead to develop digital infrastructure and terrestrial network strategies and drive investment recommendations. You will frame ambiguous strategic questions, combine network, market, supplier, operational, and financial evidence, and use fit-for-purpose models to evaluate alternatives, test assumptions, and quantify tradeoffs. The role requires the flexibility to move between strategy development, analytical problem solving, and executive decision support.
An ideal person for this role is a strategic, analytically-rigorous thinker with experience in telecoms and developing global digital connectivity solutions who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous and cross-functional environments. Successful candidates will operate independently with directional guidance, exercise judgment in defining problems and selecting methods, advise cross-functional partners on complex matters, and influence team-level priorities and investment decisions.
This position is full time and based in our Menlo Park, Denver or WDC offices [remote possible].
Responsibilities
Lead development of long-term terrestrial network strategies that meet Meta’s capacity, reliability, scalability, efficiency, and business objectives Frame ambiguous network and investment questions by defining strategic options, decision criteria, critical assumptions, and the analysis required to reach a recommendation Use network, demand, market, supplier, operational, and financial data to assess capacity gaps, investment timing, and strategic opportunities Build and challenge fit-for-purpose models, test critical assumptions, and ensure conclusions are reliable and decision-relevant Develop investment recommendations and business cases that compare alternatives across cost, risk, timing, optionality, reliability, and strategic fit Write clear, concise, decision-ready documents that synthesize complex technical, commercial, operational, and financial evidence into coherent narratives, explicit tradeoffs, recommendations, and asks for senior leaders Use AI-assisted tools with sound judgment to accelerate research, modeling, analysis, and synthesis while validating outputs and retaining accountability for conclusions Build alignment across internal and external stakeholders, reconcile conflicting perspectives, clarify ownership, and drive decisions to closure Travel up to 30% of time; greater if remote
