You won't just execute events well; you'll design programs, run tests, measure what works, and build a scalable playbook grounded in real data.\nWhat you’ll own\nProgram Design\nOwn the overall community events plan, including how different event types ladder up to company goals around awareness, retention, pipeline, and community health\n\nDesign events as experiments: define hypotheses, set measurable goals, and build in the feedback loops needed to learn and iterate\n\nMaintain a forward-looking events calendar aligned to product launches, regional growth priorities, and company milestones\n\nIdentify and prioritize target cities and regions based on community density, product usage data, and expansion opportunity\n\nEvent portfolio\nLead planning and execution of our annual user conference (Meetabase) end-to-end\n\nSupport and scale community-hosted events by providing toolkits, resources, and coordination for local organizers who want to run their own gatherings\n\nOwn demand gen events, including executive dinner and VIP programming - curating guest lists, formats, and experiences that deepen relationships with key customers and prospects\n\nCoordinate informal and formal meetups and community visits globally\n\nOperations and measurement\nOwn all event logistics: venue sourcing and negotiation, catering, AV, signage, swag, guest lists, and international shipping\n\nManage event budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement across multiple time zones and currencies\n\nDefine and track KPIs for every event type - from attendance and engagement to pipeline influence and community NPS - and report out regularly\n\nGather attendee feedback - quantitative and qualitative - and synthesize insights to continuously raise the bar on quality and impact\n\nBuild and maintain playbooks, templates, and toolkits so programs can be handed off, replicated, and improved over time\n\nPartner with Marketing, Sales, and Success Engineering on branding, messaging, and lead handoff\n\nWhat you bring\nExperience in event management, community marketing, or field marketing at a tech company, with a track record of owning both large flagship events and smaller programmatic ones\n\nA strategic, data-driven approach: you define success before you start, and you know how to structure even a small dinner as a learning opportunity\n\nExperience managing a diverse portfolio of event formats - conferences, executive programs, community events, meetups - not just one type\n\nStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across time zones\n\nComfortable with international logistics: foreign vendors, cross-border shipping, multi-currency payments\n\nConfident negotiator with vendors and venues; familiarity with contracts and procurement\n\nSelf-starter who thrives in a remote, async environment with high autonomy\n\nAbility to travel internationally when needed\n\nBonus: experience in SaaS, data analytics, or open-source communities\n\nBonus: fluency in additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, etc.)\n\nWhy this role matters\nThis role is the strategic engine behind how Metabase shows up for its community in the real world.
