This role supports both METECS corporate operations and NASA programs onsite at Johnson Space Center (JSC).\nIn this role, you will support developers, engineers, and technical staff by maintaining and improving IT systems across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments. This position is ideal for someone with several years of hands-on administration experience who is ready to take ownership of operational systems, contribute to security initiatives, and collaborate on infrastructure improvements.\nResponsibilities:\nProvision, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers and workstations.\nSupport NASA IT infrastructure and labs, and support testing and delivery activities within assigned projects.\nMonitor system performance and perform routine maintenance and updates.\nTroubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.\nParticipate in backup, disaster recovery, and patch management activities.\nSupport IT security initiatives including log review, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities.\nDocument system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and procedures.\nProvide responsive support to end users and project teams.\nManage user accounts, permissions, and Group Policies within Active Directory.\nAdminister Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.\nAssist with cloud services configuration (AWS or Azure).\nRequired Qualifications:\n3-5 years of experience in system administration.\nExperience with Linux systems (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar).\nUnderstanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing).\nHands-on experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Active Directory.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft 365 administration. \nAbility to troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively.\nCitizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience with RF concepts and technologies.\nExperience working in DevOps teams and building out dev test infrastructure\nExperience with virtualization concepts.\nScripting skills (PowerShell, Bash).\nExposure to cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).\nExperience with automation tools or configuration management.\nAbout METECS:\nWe are a high-performance team providing advanced engineering, software, and analysis solutions for human space flight and terrestrial applications.
