Coordinatesteam priorities and resources to ensure the reliable supply of quality goods and services at optimum cost and time,within approved site and globalpolicies and guidelines. Provides coaching, monitors team performance, and supports continuous improvement in purchasing and warehouse activities.Ensures that all business is conducted to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism and in a manner consistent with Responsible Care®, and within the Methanex Code of Business Conduct in an integrated HSSEQ Management System (Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality).\nOn an interim basis, this role will report to the Director, Global Procurement.\nResponsibilities \nContract Management\nFacilitates the contract management lifecycle including contract execution in adherence with the global standard and proper documentation/log of active agreements. \nEnsures all procurement and contractual activities are handled in a professional and ethical manner and confidentiality of commercial information is always maintained. \nApplies established financial controls to procurement activities and monitors compliance so end users can carry out their work effectively and efficiently. \nImplements supply arrangements that minimize inventory levels without impairing availability or quality. \nNegotiates the acquisition of goods and services within delegated authority at optimum cost, in compliance with company procedures and consistent with standards of quality and delivery. \nEnsures contract terms and conditions are kept up to date and minimizes commercial risk to Methanex. \nProvides advice and where appropriate accesses professional legal advice on matters that are of a contractual nature or that may expose the company to financial or legal risk.\nProcurement Systems and Procedures\nCoordinates the day-to-day use and maintenance of procurement systems, department procedures and processes, implementation of approved tools, KMI monitoring, and intra- and interdepartmental process improvements., etc.). \nImplements and maintains approved systems, policies and procedures for site procurement, contracts and warehouse functions, and recommends improvements. \nFacilitates training/knowledge transfer to the organization about procurement policies to ensure adherence to protect Methanex from liability and unnecessary cost. \nMonitors site procurement and warehouse procedures for compliance with Global Standards and escalates identified gaps. \nReviews site procurement procedure deviation requests and refers them to the appropriate authority for approval. \nActs as an interdepartmental liaison to maintain knowledge of end-to-end business processes. \nDevelops and actively manages key performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of purchasing and warehouse performance. Also develops and manages similar metrics for individual performance. \nSupports effective use of approved software systems and tools and recommends improvements to process efficiency.\nWarehouse\nManages Inventory and Material Management systems to ensure that the warehouse is stocked appropriately to ensure plant reliability while balancing low cost and quality deliverables. \nEnsures back up in the Warehouse(s) during periods of absence. \nProvides a service as required by the SMT to dispose of surplus and/or obsolete equipment.\nLeadership\nFacilitates Purchasing and Warehouse activity management in alignment with site project initiatives. \nManages direct reports’ priorities and workload. \nEnsures Employee and contractor compliance with Methanex policies, procedures, and applicable standard \nInvolves the team in developing and actioning the annual department plan. Ensure alignment with site business plan, Global Procurement Strategy, and Corporate Strategy \nEffectively communicates current activities and policies \nApplies Methanex HR policies and procedures within the team, with guidance from Human Resources and site leadership as needed. \nProvides regular mentoring, coaching and development to team members. \nEnsures technical skills of all staff are maintained at an adequate level to effectively support the business. \nCoordinates execution of the approved annual department plan translates objectives into team goals and work priorities, and monitors progress against key performance indicators (KPIs). \nProvides technical leadership around best procurement and contract management practices and systems. \nEnsures proactive engagement with external departments to understand site activities, impacts to procurement and to consult on how procurement can support site activities. \nProvides project management support for procurement strategic initiatives.\nVendor Management\nManages the Vendor Life Cycle Process Management which includes qualification, onboarding, performance management and continuous improvement. Engages with vendors to protect Methanex’s reputation. \nActs as a site point of contact for vendor communications and coordinates strategic matters with the appropriate procurement leadership.\nCoordinates vendor negotiations and resolves routine vendor issues within delegated authority, escalating matters as required.\nGeneral\nActively participates as a member of Global Purchasing Team (GPT) and other global teams or global initiatives as delegated. \nImplement GPT best practices and procedures. \nNetworks with other Methanex sites to the mutual benefit of all sites. \nResponsible for ensuring awareness of all controlled documents relating to this position\nQualifications\nEducation, Experience, and/or Training \nBachelor’s degree in commerce, business or a combination of education/work experience. \n2-4 years of experience (or a combination of experience) in contract administration, material management, commercial management and procurement in an industrial setting \nMinimum of 2 years of experience directly managing and leading teams \nExcellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. \nKnowledge of warehouse procedures and computerized procurement/stores/maintenance Asset Management systems (i.e. Maximo).\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities \nStrong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. \nStrong negotiation skills and demonstrated knowledge of tendering processes. \nExperience supporting turnaround and project procurement activities.\nProven leadership capabilities.\nStrong analytical, planning, and time-management skills - comfortable with the ability to quickly prioritize competing demands.\nFunctions well in a fast-paced environment\nSecurity Clearance Requirements \nTransportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)\nWork Schedule\nMonday -
