At METLEN, we foster a culture of resilience, challenge, respect, excellence, andchange, empowering our diverse workforce to achieve remarkable outcomes.\nWe are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Management Team, based in Athens, Greece.\nIn this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of the organization’s next-generation data platform, working within a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment.\nYou will actively participate across the full project lifecycle - from business requirements gathering and solution design to development, testing, and production rollout - ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performing data solutions.\nYour role will encompass:\nParticipate in technical workshops with Data Architects to review and validate proposed data solutions.\nDesign, build, test, and optimize ETL processes in alignment with defined data architectures.\nProvide technical guidance within the Data Engineering team and mentor junior Data Engineers.\nCollaborate with Project Managers and Business Analysts to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.\nContribute to task estimation and resource planning for new business demands.\nMaintain and enhance reporting schemas and internal SQL-based data warehouse systems.\nDefine and promote best practices, standards, and optimization techniques to enhance the Corporate Data Warehouse.\nMonitor and support daily Data Warehouse flows and data pipelines to ensure stability and performance.\nWhat you bring to the role:\nBSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.\n2+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a related role.\nStrong knowledge of data warehousing concepts (ETL, staging/target areas, OLAP, dimensional modeling, data marts).\nExperience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks will be considered an asset.\nExperience with Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Dedicated SQL Pool will be considered an asset.\nFamiliarity with Big Data concepts and NoSQL databases (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB) will be considered a plus.\nExperience with source control tools, code repositories, versioning practices, and branch development.\nProficiency in English (written and spoken).\nPrevious experience in DWH/BI projects, ideally within the energy, metals, or retail sectors, will be considered a plus.\nValue-Based Behaviors:\nPeople & Personal Growth\nResults Orientation & Safety Excellence\nCollaboration & Trust\nEmpathy & Effective Communication\nFlexibility & Adaptability\nYour Benefits:\nCompetitive remuneration package\nTicket Restaurant Card\nGroup Health Insurance Plan\nPreferential household electricity plan\nPension Plan\nFollow us on LinkedIn and stay updated on our latest news\nWe respect your personal data.
