You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, and external regulatory bodies to maintain compliance with environmental permits, legislation, and company standards while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance.\nYour role will encompass:\nEnsure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation, permit requirements, and regulatory obligations.\nMonitor and manage environmental aspects related to plant operations, including air emissions, water discharge, waste management, noise, and resource consumption.\nSupport the preparation and submission of environmental reports to regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.\nCoordinate environmental monitoring programs and analyze operational environmental performance data.\nConduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance assessments across the plant.\nInvestigate environmental incidents, non-conformances, and complaints, and support the implementation of corrective actions.\nProvide environmental guidance and support to Operations and Maintenance teams.\nAssist in maintaining and improving the site's Environmental Management System (EMS), including compliance with ISO 14001 requirements.\nLiaise with environmental regulators, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders as required.\nSupport environmental improvement initiatives focused on emissions reduction, waste minimization, energy efficiency, and sustainability.\nWhat you bring to the role:\nBachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.\nFamiliar with EPA submission and EPA online platform.\nPrevious experience in environmental compliance within power generation, industrial facilities, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments.\nGood understanding of environmental legislation and permitting requirements in Ireland and/or the European Union.\nExperience with environmental monitoring, reporting, auditing, and compliance management.\nKnowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is highly desirable.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret environmental data and identify improvement opportunities.\nEffective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.\nProficiency in MS Office applications and environmental reporting tools.\nFamiliarity with Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) requirements, emissions monitoring, and environmental permitting frameworks.\nExperience working with environmental regulators and external authorities.\nAt METLEN, we combine industrial expertise with a global outlook to help shape a more sustainable future.
