Through our M Renewables division, we develop and deliver large-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects, contributing to a more sustainable future.\nWe are seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager - Western Europe (BESS) to join our growing team in the United Kingdom, supporting the development and conversion of strategic Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPC opportunities across Western Europe.\nThis role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale standalone and hybrid energy storage projects, working closely with Senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Commercial, Procurement, Finance and Legal. You will support the development of technical and commercial proposals, tender submissions, client engagement and contract negotiations.\nThe position is primarily focused on project development, business acquisition and pre-contract activities, providing valuable exposure to the commercial, technical and contractual aspects of BESS EPC projects, rather than the day-to-day management of awarded projects and construction delivery.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject and Opportunity Coordination: Support Senior Project Managers in coordinating multiple BESS EPC opportunities across Western Europe, monitoring progress, maintaining trackers and action logs, and ensuring deliverables are completed within agreed timescales.\n\nTender Management: Assist in preparing and coordinating tender submissions, gathering technical, commercial and contractual inputs, managing documentation and ensuring submission requirements are met.\n\nTechnical and Commercial Development: Coordinate inputs from Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Finance and Legal teams to support the development of competitive and technically viable BESS proposals.\n\nTechnical Solution Coordination: Support the evaluation of preliminary designs, technical specifications, system configurations, battery technologies, major equipment options and engineering assumptions for energy storage projects.\n\nSupplier and Procurement Support: Assist with requests for quotations (RFQs), supplier and OEM engagement, quotation comparisons and the evaluation of equipment and subcontractor proposals.\n\nClient and Stakeholder Engagement: Support client communications, participate in meetings and workshops, and prepare presentations, reports and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.\n\nRisk and Governance: Maintain risk registers, action logs and controlled documentation, supporting internal approval processes, technical and commercial risk assessments, and compliance with company procedures.\n\nContinuous Improvement: Contribute to lessons learned, knowledge sharing and the improvement of tendering and opportunity management processes.\n\nRequirements\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.\n\nA Master’s degree or additional studies in renewable energy, energy storage, engineering or project management would be advantageous.\n\nExperience and Technical Skills\n1-3 years of experience in project management, engineering, construction, procurement or a related field.\n\nBasic understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and EPC project development.\n\nFamiliarity with project lifecycles, tendering processes and multidisciplinary project environments.\n\nGood commercial awareness and the ability to interpret technical documentation and drawings.\n\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.\n\nFamiliarity with MS Project or Primavera would be an advantage.\n\nPrevious experience within a BESS developer, EPC contractor, energy storage OEM, engineering consultancy or construction environment is desirable.
