At METLEN, we foster a culture of resilience, challenge, respect, excellence, andchange, empowering our diverse workforce to achieve remarkable outcomes.\nWe are currently looking for aHSE Site Supervisor to join our Renewables team in one of our projects in Berlin.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental activities on large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring compliance with German HSE legislation and company standards while promoting a strong safety culture on site. Working closely with the HSE Country Manager, Project Manager, Site Engineers, and subcontractors, you will support the implementation of HSE management systems, monitor site compliance, conduct inspections, support incident investigations, and ensure that construction activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and project objectives.\nYour role will encompass:\nSupport the implementation of the project HSE Plan, Integrated Management System (IMS), and project-specific HSE requirements\nMonitor compliance with applicable German Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, company procedures, and client requirements\nConduct regular HSE inspections, site walks, behavioural safety observations, and compliance checks\nReview subcontractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and monitor the implementation of agreed control measures\nSupport the preparation and maintenance of project Risk Assessments and HSE documentation\nIdentify unsafe conditions and behaviours and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented\nSupport the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental events, including follow-up of corrective actions\nDeliver site inductions, toolbox talks, HSE briefings, and safety awareness sessions\nMonitor compliance with site emergency procedures, fire safety arrangements, welfare facilities, signage, and emergency equipment\nMonitor environmental controls, waste management, hazardous substance storage, and pollution prevention measures\nSupport subcontractor HSE monitoring and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements\nMaintain HSE inspection records, action trackers, and other site documentation\nPrepare regular HSE reports and provide updates to the HSE Country Manager and Project Manager\nParticipate in project and coordination meetings and provide HSE support and advice to site teams\nPromote a positive and proactive HSE culture across the workforce\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of HSE best practices on site\nWhat you bring to the role:\nBachelor's Degree in Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline\n4+ years of experience in an HSE role within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, EPC, or renewable energy projects\nPrevious experience on Solar PV, BESS, substations, or other energy infrastructure projects is highly desirable\nGood knowledge of German occupational health and safety legislation and relevant DGUV requirements\nExperience working on live construction sites and monitoring subcontractor HSE performance\nGood knowledge of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, and Permit-to-Work systems\nExperience conducting site inspections, safety observations, audits, and compliance checks\nExperience supporting accident and incident investigations is desirable\nValid First Aid qualification is desirable\nKnowledge of ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 is desirable\nAdditional qualifications in fire safety, environmental management, or risk assessment are desirable\nGood communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills\nGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office\nFluent German and good English\nValid EU driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across Germany\nYour Benefits:\nCompetitive remuneration package\nGroup Health Insurance Plan\nShare the Same Value Based Behaviours:\nPeople & Personal Growth\nResults Orientation & Safety Excellence\nCollaboration & Trust\nEmpathy & Effective Communication\nFlexibility & Adaptability\nFollow us on LinkedIn and stay updated on our latest news\nWe respect your personal data.
