At METLEN, we foster a culture of resilience, challenge, respect, excellence, andchange, empowering our diverse workforce to achieve remarkable outcomes.\nWe are currently looking for an M&E Project Manager to join the EGL1 Project team, based in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear.The role will hold full responsibility for managing, coordinating and delivering major Building Services, Auxiliary Systems and HV equipment installation contracts across the project.\nYour role will encompass:\nAct as the single point of accountability for assigned M&E and HV equipment installation contracts, from contract award through handover and close-out.\n\nLead the safe and successful delivery of Building Services, Auxiliary Systems, transformer installation, MV systems, and HV primary and valve installation packages.\n\nManage contractor performance against contractual requirements, programmemilestones, quality targetsand HSE requirements.\n\nChair contract review meetings, track actions to close-out, and proactively address non-performance, constraintsand commercial exposure.\n\nCoordinate delivery across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Commercial and Project Controls functions.\n\nAlign contractor programmeswith integrated project schedules and support the development and maintenance of Level 4 and Level 5 programmes.\n\nMonitor package progress, installation readinessand commissioning milestones, providing clear performance updates to Project Management.\n\nCoordinate design deliverables, technical submissions, temporary works proposals and interfaces between design, procurement, constructionand commissioning.\n\nSupport the resolution of technical queries, design issuesand construction constraints, including buildability, constructabilityand commissioning reviews.\n\nManage package budgets, forecast performance, change events, compensation events, variations, claims and contractual risks in collaboration with Commercial and Project Controls.\n\nCoordinate contractor activities across project locations, ensuring adequate resourcing, safe execution, progressive quality recordsand complete handover documentation.\n\nIdentifypackage-level risks and opportunities, implement mitigation plans, and escalate significant issues through the appropriate projectgovernance channels.\n\nBuild effective relationships with the client, consortium partners, contractorsand internal stakeholders, representingMETLEN in package, progressand coordination meetings.\n\nWhat you bring to the role:\nA degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Managementor a relateddiscipline.\n\nAt least 10 years of experience in project management, construction managementor contract management roles.\n\nDemonstrable experience managing major M&E, industrial, power generation, transmissionor HV electrical installation contracts.\n\nStrong knowledge of contractor management and project delivery within an EPC environment.\n\nProven ability to manage multiple contractors, work packagesand technical interfaces simultaneously.\n\nStrong commercial awareness, including experience in contract change, performance management, claimsand risk.\n\nProfessional qualification or membership such as APM, PMI, CMI, ICE, IET or equivalent.\n\nStrong working knowledge of NEC contracts.\n\nExcellent communication, stakeholder management, planningand organisationalskills.\n\nAbility to influence and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in joint venture, consortiumor multi-party project environments.\n\nExperience in heavily regulated construction or infrastructure industries.\n\nExcellent command of English, strong Microsoft Office skills and a full UK driving licence.\n\nIt would be beneficial to have:\nExperience delivering HVDC, substation, transmissionor other large-scale energy infrastructure projects.\n\nYour benefits:\nAttractive remunerationpackage.\n\nFriendly and professional working environment.\n\nCareer development opportunities.\n\nContinuous training and learning.\n\nFollow us on LinkedIn and stay updated on our latest news\nWe respect your personal data.
