At METLEN, we foster a culture of resilience, challenge, respect, excellence, andchange, empowering our diverse workforce to achieve remarkable outcomes.\nWe are looking for a Grid Compliance Engineer responsible for ensuring that renewable energy and energy storage projects comply with UK Grid Codes, ENA Engineering Recommendations (particularly G99/G100), and DNO/NESO requirements from early development through commissioning.\nThe role will act as the internal technical authority for grid compliance, managing compliance strategies, overseeing grid studies, and leading technical submissions to network operators. This position is key to minimising project risk, securing timely approvals, and supporting successful project delivery.\nYour Role will encompass:\nGrid Compliance Management\nAct as the company’s technical authority for grid compliance across UK projects.\nEnsure compliance with ENA G99/G100, UK Grid Code, and DNO/IDNO/NESO requirements.\nInterpret connection offers and agreements and translate them into compliance strategies.\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of UK grid regulations.\nGrid Studies & Technical Assessments\nDefine and manage grid compliance studies, including load flow, fault level, dynamic, and harmonic studies.\nReview and validate outputs from external consultants.\nEnsure alignment between study assumptions and project design.\nIdentify risks and recommend mitigation measures.\nApplications, Submissions & Approvals\nLead G99 applications (Stages 1-3) with DNOs and Compliance Processes (ONCCs) with NESO.\nCoordinate compliance reports, protection studies, and commissioning plans.\nInterface with DNOs, IDNOs, and NESO to secure approvals.\nTrack approvals and resolve technical issues or delays.\nCoordination & Stakeholder management\nAct as the main interface with network operators, consultants, and internal teams.\nEnsure grid compliance requirements are aligned with project design.\nSupport internal teams in understanding and meeting compliance obligations.\nProject Delivery Support\nSupport development, design, construction, and commissioning activities.\nEnsure compliance requirements are embedded in project execution plans.\nSupport commissioning and grid compliance testing.\nRisk Management & Assurance\nIdentify and manage grid compliance risks.\nEnsure projects meet connection agreement obligations before energisation.\nSupport technical reviews and continuous improvement.\nWhat you bring to the role:\nDegree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with experience in UK grid compliance within renewables, ICP, DNO, or consultancy.\nStrong knowledge of G99/G100, UK Grid Code, and DNO/NESO processes, with experience managing grid applications and compliance studies.\nExperience with grid compliance testing and tools such as DIgSILENT, ETAP, IPSA, or PSCAD would be beneficial.\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it would be beneficial.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.\nYour Benefits:\nMedical Plan: Included Life Insurance\nPension Plan\nShare the same Value Based Behaviors:\nPeople & Personal growth \nResults orientation & Safety excellence \nCollaboration & Trust \nEmpathy & Effective communication \nFlexibility & Adaptability\nFollow us on LinkedIn and stay updated on our latest news\nWe respect your personal data.
