At METLEN, we foster a culture of resilience, challenge, respect, excellence, andchange, empowering our diverse workforce to achieve remarkable outcomes.\nWe are currently looking for a Site Mechanical Engineer to join the Grid & Digital Solutions department, as part of the Thermal Power & HVDC division of Metlen, for the EGL1 Project, based in Torness.\nThe role will support the construction execution of projects, contributing to delivery in line with project objectives, contractual requirements, safety standards, quality expectations, budget, and schedule.\nYour role will encompass:\nSupporting mechanical construction activities on site, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budget, and schedule.\nCoordinating with Project Managers, contractors, and subcontractors to support the planning and execution of mechanical installations.\nPerforming regular inspections and quality checks to ensure works are carried out in line with project and industry standards.\nIdentifying and supporting the resolution of mechanical issues arising during construction.\nCollaborating with the design team during the pre-construction phase, providing input on mechanical systems where required.\nMaintaining accurate documentation of mechanical works performed on site.\nEnsuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture across site activities.\nWhat you bring to the role:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.\n2+ years of experience in mechanical erection works or maintenance, preferably within heavy industrial environments such as power plants, refineries, CCGT, HVAC, or broader energy projects.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and civil construction drawings, procedures, and specifications.\nFluency in English.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.\nStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural project teams.\nFollow us on LinkedIn and stay updated on our latest news\nWe respect your personal data.
