With Metrobank, a meaningful life is within your reach!\nPosition Title: Data Scientist\nAs a Data Scientist at Metrobank, you will gain the following career advantages:\nContribute to the building of an end-to-end pioneer data science and advanced analytics team who works on significant data projects that help shape the future of the bank.\nExposure to intricacies and dependencies of data operations and machine learning models in a highly regulated environment.\nLearn from analytics professionals, data scientists, data visualization experts, and banking domain leaders who will consume, analyze, and act on data made available to them.\nThis role prepares the successful candidate for complex technical or managerial roles related to the management and usage of data science models for banking decisions.\nWith deeper understanding of the business domain, this role can lead to data-driven roles in the Wealth and Commercial business units being served by the analytics team.\nWith deeper understanding of data structures, this role can also lead to more technical data engineering roles.\nWhat you will be doing:\nSupport new data-driven initiatives by using sound statistical supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques in coming up with data models that allow the bank to improve customer experience, engagement, retention, and overall customer lifetime value.\nHelp pioneer the bank’s machine learning models using data science tools such as but not limited to SAS Viya (Visual Analytics, Visual Statistics, and Visual Data Mining & Machine Learning), R, Python, and Azure Machine Learning Studio.\nRefine data science problem statements after requirements-gathering with business users and determine the appropriate models to respond to the problem statement.\nDetermine and specify the data needed to answer the problem statement, identifying potential input variables or predictors and response variables.\nWrangle available data and prepare them for modeling.\nEvaluate various models and recommend a model based on its performance, ability to respond to problem statement, or interpretability.\nPrepare business-facing reports on the recommended models (at times assisting in explaining the recommendations to business users).\nAssist in deploying and operationalizing recommended models, designing and implementing processes that ensure business users’ continued usage of recommended or refined models.\nAssist in periodically refining deployed models in production.\nQualifications :\nEducation and experience in a data-heavy field, such as (but not limited to) Math, Statistics, Economics, Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science.\nGood understanding of the theory behind machine learning models and their applicability in various situations.\nPrior experience as data analyst or data scientist preferred.\nProficiency in analytics and data visualization tools such as (but not limited to) SAS, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlikview.\nProgramming experience (SQL, SAS Script, R, or Python) is an advantage.\nAbility to communicate and collaborate with various analytical and technical teams.\nAbility to communicate and collaborate with business stakeholders of varying seniority levels is an advantage\nOther Details:\nRank: Junior Officer\nUnit: Branch Banking Sector / Data Science and Advanced Analytics Division / Data Innovations Department\nOffice Location: GT Capital Tower, Ayala Avenue corner H.V.
