Sr Full Stack Engineer

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a €31.5 Billion international wholesaler with operations in 32 countries through 625 stores & a team of 85,000 people globally. Metro operates in a further 10 countries with its Food Service Distribution (FSD) business and it is thus active in a total of 34 countries.

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide Finance, HR, IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. Your Responsibilities:

• Being involved in all phases of software engineering, from inception to coding, testing, delivery and operation
• Developing high quality code that follows best practices and clean code principles;
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security and performance;
• Collaborating with other engineers or team members
• Work on various layers of the infrastructure
• Interacting with the users in order to understand and characterize their needs and advise them if necessary

Required key competencies and qualifications:

• 8+ years of building and running containerized complex web applications in the cloud
• 5+ years several years of programming in a high-level language, e.g. Java, Kotlin, Scala, JavaScript
• Exp in React required
• Experience with and commitment to CICD and DevOps best practices
• Independent reliable working style
• Capability to form opinions and express them in discussions

Nice to have:

• Experience with Cloud Platform, preferably GCP, in particular GKE, Cloud Armor, Networking
• Experience with react and Microfrontend architecture (preferably Module Federation)
• Experience with docker, kubernetes, ArgoCD, Datadog
• Experience with Cassandra, Kafka, Solr
• Experience with terraform, kotlin, typescript
• Experience with running AI Agents, preferably in Production
• Very good fluency in English (written and verbal).
