Metro Supply Chain is a 2024 winner of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program, recognized for its strategic expertise, culture of innovation and commitment to its people and local communities.\nLogistics Coordinator\nSUMMARY\nReporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the order fulfillment work plan for the shift. Utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS) best practices, the LC coordinates order allocation, replenishment, and the flow of inbound and outbound freight throughout the warehouse with a focus on accuracy, quality, and efficiency\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nOrder Picking and Replenishment\nEnsures all trailers and containers are checked into RP in timely manner to secure correct time stamps up arrival and dispatched completion.\nEnsuring all OB’s are completely loaded and complete, close out/dispatch as required.\nEnsure all containers are correctly reported in WMS (time arrived/time emptied)\nChecking in all IB receipts into WMS to allow operations team to receive product into inventory.\nEnsure drivers log is completed and initialed for every load.\nMake sure a valid Drivers license is provided for every load.\nClosing all IB receipts after product is received into inventory *report and all discrepancies.\nPrepare all trailer inspection reports for all IB and OB loads.\nMonitor and complete all loads on Open dock - add extras as needed.\nCommunicate with Jockey all trailer moves (live or drop loads) and preloaded.\nMaintain proper filing of all IB’s and OB’s paperwork in secure locations. Remove and box full folders for permanent storage.\nMonitor and control visitors’ badges, making sure they are being properly signed in and out and returned.\nMake sure FedEx orders are received and shipped.\nCommunicates progress in resolving short allocations with management. \nSchedules for customer rush orders.\nUses Outbound Order Progress Display/Load Planning Operations to monitor order progress to ensure timely completion of order picking.\nInbound and Outbound Freight\nUsing the inbound and outbound schedule assigns work to MHE Operators and monitors the flow of work throughout the shift.\nWorks with the supervisor to coordinate the most effective manner to organize inbound and outbound loads.\nUses WMS to monitor receiving and shipping task progress to ensure timely completion of scheduled loading and offloading.\nAssigns work and work instructions to Team Members for the manual offloading of trailers ‘lumping’.\nCommunicates progress for offloading and loading and reports any delays immediately to management.\nRecords in WMS delivery of received inbound trailers not yet put-away to a location. \nCloses customer orders in.\nPrepares all inbound and outbound transport carrier paperwork, including customer specific requirements.\nEnsures proper paperwork for multi-stop outbound freight.\nRecords and maintains trailer numbers and dock door numbers in WMS. \nOversee and control the arrival, departure, movement and storage for trailers in the yard. \nCommunicates with drivers to move trailers within the yard to ensure inbound and outbound trailer requirements are adequate.\nCheck and track load arrivals and departures times during the shift and investigate missed deadlines for resolution.\nEXPERIENCE / EDUCATION\nMinimum High School Diploma or GED \nCollege diploma in Logistics Management a plus\nThree (3) years warehouse / logistics experience, preferably with some team lead experience.\nPrevious experience with Warehouse Management Information System (WMS), preferably Red Prairie.\nCOMPETENCIES & SKILLS\nSKILLS\nAbility to make sound independent decisions and escalate any non-routine decisions to management.\nStrong attention to detail and prioritization skills.\nAbility to anticipate problems and solve problems to resolution.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to work in a customer focused environment.\nAble to adapt to change and quickly adopt new methods and practices required to meet changing business needs.\nLearns quickly and can transfer their knowledge to others.\nIntermediate level knowledge of WMS system, preferably Red Prairie.\nBasic knowledge of Excel. \nCUSTOMER SERVICE AND “OUR WAY” CULTURE\nAs a team member works collaboratively with Metro employees in a team-oriented environment.\nExceptional customer service attitude.\nLooks for ways to say “Yes” to the customer (internal and external).\nPromote and support team member driven social initiatives.\nFollow established processes and achieve customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).\nCommitment to quality of work.\nApproachable, positive interpersonal style.\nMaintain open, honest relationships.\nHEALTH & SAFETY\nWithout compromise maintain a safe and clean work environment.\nFollows the Occupational Health and Safety Act including Safety, Violence and Harassment laws.\nReports any hazards in the workplace to management.\nMust not use or operate equipment in a manner that would endanger self or others.\nMust not put other workers at risk by their actions.\nEnsures safety accident and incidents are immediately reported to management.\nWHY JOIN US?\nWork in an environment where safety is our first priority \nThe opportunity to build a career with a growing company \nMedical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family \nLife and disability insurance \nWellness programs to support your family’s well-being \nA Retirement Savings Program with a company match \nCommunity volunteering \nWe are an equal opportunity employer committed to building and fostering a diverse workplace where people feel included and valued.
