The future isn’t coming; it’s here, and we need builders, innovators, and problem solvers to help us create it.\nWho you are\nMetropolis is seeking a Risk Management Intern to contribute to our department’s mission of elevating risk acumen by generating and implementing loss models and analyses that will assist in the development of programs to reduce total cost of risk. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.\nWhat you'll do\nGenerate and reconcile key metrics, and provide analysis for the department\nParticipate in strategy meetings and prepare data for annual policy renewals\nReview and monitor insurance documentation, assembling and communicating information in agreements to internal and external parties and ensuring their compliance\nAssist Safety function in creating and distributing loss control material to operational stakeholders\nConduct research by compiling and analyzing risk management data, and provide value-add recommendations\nPrepare informative reports which define, establish, and analyze KPIs\nGain experience in navigating property, casualty, and management liability insurance and surety markets\nShadow roles such as Broker, Actuary, Claims Administrator, and Underwriter\nWhat we're looking for\nStrong academic performance required, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0\nPursuing Bachelor’s degree concentrated in Risk Management & Insurance or a related field\nDriven personality with the ambition to learn the functions of corporate risk management\nExperience working with data, interpreting the results, and making recommendations\nStrong attention to detail, written and verbal communication and analytical skills\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel\nExperience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes \nAbility to work in our downtown Chicago Office for 12 weeks, starting in early Summer 2027 (hybrid work model)\nWhile not required, these are a plus:\nExperience with other data manipulation tools\n4 Days in Office: Metropolis values in-person collaboration to drive innovation, strengthen culture, and enhance the Member experience. The anticipated base pay for this position is $22.00 USD hourly. The actual base pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment.
