The City Barge is a historic 14th century public house with a wealth of history behind it and is situated on the Thames riverside, nestled in the picturesque area of Strand on the Green, Chiswick.

As manager, you call the shots and make sure everything’s spot-on. What’s on the menu? You decide. You’ll work with the head chef to plan, tweak and change it every season. What weekly events are you running? What will you do for Valentine’s? Again, it’s up to you. Who’s working for you and what are they going to do next? Over to you once more.

We’re Metropolitan Pub Company (or Metro Pub Co for short). You’ve probably never heard of us as a collective but that’s the way we like it! Our pubs are unique and individual and we wouldn’t want them to feel any other way. We’re massive advocates of local pubs being just that, local, with their own character and charm. We were acquired by Greene King in 2011 and have continued to flourish under their umbrella. We have around 65 “urban locals” where we are proud to create warm and friendly places our guests don’t want to leave and teams who feel exactly the same.
