You will design, develop, deploy and maintain production-grade AI capabilities that create measurable business value.\nIn this role, you will transform business requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable AI solutions. You will develop AI applications, services and integrations using machine learning and generative AI technologies, deploy and monitor models in production environments and integrate AI capabilities into business processes, applications, APIs and data platforms.\nYou will be responsible for industrializing AI and machine learning solutions. You will implement MLOps and AI engineering practices, build reliable deployment processes and continuously optimize solution performance, scalability, operational reliability and cost efficiency throughout the solution lifecycle.\nCollaboration is an essential part of your role. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Software Developers, Architects and business stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of AI solutions. In addition, you will maintain development best practices in developers handbooks.\nThis is a permanent position and you will report to the Development Manager, AI.\nWhat are we expecting of you?\nWe are looking for an experienced and solution-oriented AI professional who combines strong software engineering skills with a practical understanding of machine learning, generative AI and cloud-based AI environments. You know how to take AI solutions beyond experimentation and build production-ready capabilities that are reliable, secure and maintainable.\nTo succeed in this role, you should have:\nA Master's or PhD degree in Applied Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another similar discipline.\nStrong expertise in AI application development, machine learning deployment and MLOps practices.\nStrong software engineering and programming skills in Python, together with experience using modern AI and machine learning frameworks.\nExperience with version control systems, such as Azure DevOps Repos, and building CI/CD pipelines.\nHands-on experience in of AI solution development with Azure Databricks, Azure AI Foundry capabilities and Microsoft Azure cloud services.\nHands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, Terraform or similar deployment tools and methodologies.\nA good understanding of scalable, secure and production-grade AI solution architectures and solution costs factors and FinOps.\nThe ability to integrate AI capabilities into business processes, applications, APIs, digital services and data platforms.\nStrong collaboration and communication skills for working with both technical experts and business stakeholders.\nIn addition, you understand the importance of responsible AI, governance and information security. You can balance technical quality with business value, scalability, maintainability and cost efficiency while ensuring that solutions comply with Metsä Group’s architecture principles and development standards.
